The Arachnid is one of the rarely used vehicles in Jailbreak due to its performance and obtainability. It primarily focuses on appearance rather than performance. The vehicle features great top speed, launch speed, and acceleration, it's easily behind supercars. Compared to the Torpedo, which costs the same price, it has almost every aspect one step ahead of the Arachnid. Other aspects of the vehicle are also very good: including handling, braking, and off-roading. Overall, this vehicle doesn't serve a lot of purposes, though it's very durable, stable, and having a stylish look. Some players may find it attractive due to its appearance. As of now, even if you have enough money to buy the Arachnid, it's officially unobtainable. Just remember players still own the vehicle can still spawn via Garage or using the Mobile Garage Gamepass and drive it.

Why can I not buy this?

The content featured on this page is no longer obtainable in Jailbreak. It is now exclusive content that can only be obtained through trading, and it is unable to be purchased by non-owners.
No unobtainability date has been specified.

Overview

The Arachnid, also known as the Batmobile, is a now unobtainable special vehicle in Jailbreak. It cost $750,000 and required players to unlock it by reaching a certain Police level(30) during Event Seasons 1 and 2, and it was level 5 obtainable in season 2.

The Arachnid spawned at the Secret Agent Base, in the middle of the roadway. Though this vehicle was hard to get, it proved worthy of driving. It has very quick acceleration, smooth handling, and good off-roading ability. It is also hard to stop, being able to climb over or bust through most parked vehicles. These features make the Arachnid a very good Police car, as it is well suited to chasing down opponents in tight and off-road chases, due to its amazing agility. It's massive size also allows you to make a good roadblock.

Some players argue that this vehicle was easier to obtain than its Criminal counterpart; the Torpedo. Both were equal in price and level requirements, but police levels are considered to be easier to earn. This is because police gain XP for the simple act of arresting, while in comparison, criminals need to complete long heists to get XP. However, they get more money in the process.

Style

The Arachnid appears to be a Tumbler seen in some Batman films, such as The Dark Knight trilogy.

Obtainability

The requirements to obtain the Arachnid have changed several times throughout the various Event Season Updates.

In Season 1, this vehicle made its debut alongside the Torpedo. It was available for purchase only when players reached Level 30 on the police team. Once unlocked, it would cost $750,000, a price that would place it among the most expensive vehicles in the game.

Season 2 also included the Arachnid in its level rewards. But unlike Season 1, it would be unlocked at level 5 instead of level 30. This was likely put in place so that players who obtained the vehicle in the previous season would have an easier time re-unlocking it. However, this system was rather flawed, as newcomers did not have to work as hard to unlock the Arachnid as players did in Season 1. The price tag of $750,000 stayed the same, but the lowered level requirement definitely made the Arachnid easier to get. The same went for the Torpedo but on the Criminal team.

When Season 3 began, the Arachnid was replaced by the successor Raptor and was made unobtainable by normal means. It was intended that only the players that unlocked the vehicle in Seasons 1 and 2 would be able to use it and spawn it. Since its spawn at the Secret Agent Base was removed, it did not naturally appear on the Jailbreak map, making it impossible to buy new. However, if another player spawned the Arachnid into the game via a Garage or the Mobile Garage Gamepass, it would be possible for others to buy it. This loophole was heavily abused by players who did not legitimately obtain it beforehand and damaged the vehicle's exclusivity.

As of Season 4, the Arachnid is officially unobtainable. The spawning loophole was patched, and upon attempted purchase, players will receive nothing but a notification that says: "Vehicle is from another season."

Although it's slower than almost every supercar. It's still quite fast compared to many medium-tier vehicles. The Arachnid is only comparable to the Mclaren, Ferrari, and Cybertruck. Reverse speed isn't the best or the worst. It's comparable to many medium-tier supercars. However, many hypercars dominate the category such as the Chiron, Torpedo, and Bugatti.

Acceleration

Extremely fast launch speed but not overall the fastest. The Arachnid loses to some hypercars such as the Torpedo and Roadster. It's comparable to the Lamborghini and Bugatti. Due to its lower top speed it can accelerate to top speed in about 10 seconds. Acceleration can easily beat many medium-tier vehicles and some high-tier vehicles. As a result, it's great for short to medium routes.
Handling

The handling is excellent at every speed. Due to its width, it has some troubles in cornering and driving through tight spaces. Comparable to the Mclaren, Ferrari, Roadster,SWAT Van, and Mini-Cooper. The ground clearance is not very high. Due to the Arachnid's design. the suspension is very stable, it can easily run over many bumps and hills without rolling over. However, it tends to lose some speed when climbing.
Braking

Due to it's lower top speed and incredible brakes. It can come to a stop very quickly. It's tied with the Chiron, however, it's behind the Roadster, Model 3, and Cybertruck. No info

Pros and Cons

Pros Cons
Incredible acceleration. In fact, better than the Bugatti's and is nearly comparable to that of the Torpedo. It was hard to obtain and very expensive; it cost $750,000 in-game cash and required Level 30 (Season 1) or Level 5 (Season 2) as a Police.
Handles very well while driving at top speed. Worse than the Torpedo in terms of speed, even though they cost the same price.
Good offroading. Very large, making it difficult to maneuver it through tight spaces.
Large size makes it a good car to create roadblocks with, as well as being able to drive over most Vehicles due to massive tires. Players without the Mobile Garage Gamepass can only spawn this vehicle in the garage.
Very stable after collisions. It cannot be obtained as of the Season 4 update
This vehicle is exclusive, which makes it special and rare. Slower than every supercar even though it's $750,000

Trivia

  • This was a player-suggested vehicle. It was a joke suggestion, but it soon became a reality.
  • This vehicle is modeled after the Tumbler, a version of the Batmobile used in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy - ‘Batman Begins’, ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ - henceforth causing the nickname ‘Batmobile’. Various Tumblers make an appearance throughout, most notably Wayne’s black Batman Tumbler and the ordinary camouflaged military Tumblers stolen by Bane’s mercenaries from Wayne Enterprises, most to be later destroyed by Bruce using the ‘Bat’.
  • The in-game vehicle is based upon the standard symmetrical version of the Tumbler (the type Wayne uses) as the explosive cannon and homing missile launcher variants seen within the trilogy have noticeable extra right-hand side window armoring and right side overhead design differences to incorporate the added weaponry.
  • Depending on how the player modifies the Arachnid, a resemblance to both the aforementioned black Tumbler and the standard tan-camouflaged Tumblers can be created.
  • Around 24 hours after the release of this vehicle, it received a large speed buff, allowing it to compete with the speed of the McLaren/Ferrari.
  • In the Garage Refresh Update, the Arachnid received yet another speed buff.
  • The vehicle's name is based on the car rim Arachnid.
  • The Arachnid is the widest land vehicle in the game, but the BlackHawk is the widest vehicle overall.
  • In the Season 2 Update, the Arachnid spawn was moved from next to the Camaro to the middle of the 3 blue carpets. Before, the Arachnid and Camaro were in front of the waterfall side-by-side.
  • The Arachnid was used as the primary promotional vehicle for all of the art/graphics made promoting the Garage V1 Update.
  • If players crawl into one of the rear wheels, it is possible to get stuck under the car.
  • The Torpedo, Arachnid, R8, and the Raptor are the only vehicles to be limited so far.
  • This car has a unique stock license plate, reading "BATMAN" instead of the usual "ABC DEF".
  • In a Tweet by Badimo talking about Nukes, they stated "We have plans to bring back seasonal items in the future!" This made many think they meant the Torpedo, Arachnid, R8, and Raptor, all seasonal cars. In a later tweet, they replied to a reply asking about these cars returning saying: "They will not. They're limited-time vehicles."
