This robbery is related to the Bank, but is not the same robbery. See Rising City Bank and Crater City Bank for further information.

The Bank Truck (also known as Cash Truck or Money Truck) is the 11th heist to be introduced into Jailbreak and was added in the 2020 Winter Update. This is one of the more unique robberies as it requires Police to transport it to a specific destination.

As part of the Bank Truck Update, the Bank Truck was revamped, with new mechanics and a refreshed vehicle model.

Overview

The Bank Truck is a large, armored vehicle that is parked inside the Rising City Bank when not in use. It features a rear door with a C4 silhouette and a mounted Minigun on the back.

To rob the Bank Truck, Police must arrest 20 Criminals. As more Criminals are arrested, the rear of the truck will slowly fill with money until the 20 arrests requirement is met. Once 20 arrests are made, the Bank Truck will be available to drive and the robbery will start once a Police officer enters the drivers seat. Police will have to drive the Bank Truck to a destination marked on the map, and they have to get to that destination before the 4 minute timer on the heist runs out.

Criminals can also rob the Bank Truck by intervening with its transport. Criminals are able to ram and shoot the Bank Truck while it is being driven. If successfully stopped, Criminals can use C4 to blow the rear doors off the truck, and be rewarded the cash.

The Bank Truck has a self-defense weapon in the form of a mounted Minigun, which can disable incoming vehicles and damage Criminals who attempt to pursue the truck. The Minigun's field of view is limited, and it can only aim at anything behind the truck. There is also an armed bomb located on the Bank Truck, which is set to 4 minutes upon Police starting the robbery. The timer is reset to 20 seconds once the Bank Truck reaches its destination, before prompty detonating and destroying the truck.

Path

As this is a moving robbery controlled by the players, it will have to be driven to predetermined locations set by the developers. These locations may have changed over the course of this robbery's existence in Jailbreak.

There are 6 drop-off locations that the Bank Truck can be delivered to, and a random drop-off will be chosen every time the robbery begins. See the Delivery Locations section for further information.

Players will have to choose what they believe is the most optimal path to the marked destination, as they have full control over the Bank Truck's direction and movement.

Robbing

Police

Police must make 20 Criminal arrests (can be the same Criminal repeatedly) for the Bank Truck to be drivable. Once the heist begins, a waypoint to the required destination will be activated for anyone who enters the truck, and it must be delivered before the bomb detonates and destroys the cash. The sooner the Police arrive, the more money they will earn.

Once driven to the drop-off, Police will earn any remaining cash and the Bank Truck will begin a self-destruct sequence. Any players inside the truck will be kicked out and will be prompted to leave the area before detonation.

Criminals

Criminals should be on the look out for Police driving the Bank Truck, and pursue it once found. This can be easily done by looking for the truck's robbery icon flashing and actively moving.

The top priority once locating the Bank Truck is to prevent it from moving, either by shooting out the tires or by ramming and knocking it over. Then, they must use a C4 on the rear door of the Bank Truck to blow it open.

Criminals only need to be near the Bank Truck to collect the money. There will certainly be Police along the way, so Criminals should take them out before blowing open the door and robbing. If the Bank Truck reaches its destination, Criminals cannot earn any money from it.

Once the Bank Truck has been robbed, it cannot be robbed again for 15 minutes, starting from when it respawns at the Rising City Bank.

Delivery Locations

There are six possible locations that Police officers can be assigned to when delivering.

Delivery Location Description
Prison Drop-off located in the Prison parking lot, right outside the Prison Police Station.
Bounty Bay Airport Drop-off located between the terminal and hangar at the Bounty Bay Airport.
Crown Jewel Drop-off located in front of the Crown Jewel entrance.
1M Dealership Drop-off located located at back of the 1M Dealership. Added in The Bank Truck Update after initially being removed.
Crater City Airport Drop-off located at the runway of the Crater City Airport. Added in the Bank Truck Update.
Beach Town Drop-off located near the Trade Port in the Beach Town. Added in the Bank Truck Update.
Secret Agent Base (removed) Drop-off located outside the entrance. Removed due to the base entrance being changed.
Donut Shop (removed) Drop-off located right next to the entrance of the Donut Shop and next to Mountainside Town Garage 2. Removed in The Bank Truck Update.
Mountainside Town Gun Shop (removed) Drop-off located at the parking lot just to the left of the Mountainside Town Gun Shop. Removed in The Bank Truck Update.
Crater City Bank (removed) Drop-off located at the side entrance of the Crater City Bank. Removed in the Bank Truck Update.
Mountainside Town Gas Station (removed) Drop-off located at the right side of the Mountainside Town Gas Station. Removed in the Bank Truck Update.

Tips and Tricks

Police

  • Encourage more Police officers on the team to make enough arrests to enable the Bank Truck.
  • Use routes which have low traffic but are also quick to avoid the bomb detonating before the drop off location is reached.
  • Do not drive the truck down the underground tunnel next to the Bank, as the truck will be unable to reverse due to the low clearance of the tunnel.
    • Additionally, do not drive the truck under the bridge heading to Police Station 2, as the truck will be unable to fit under the bridge. This is because of the turret hitbox and low clearance of the bridge. You also risk getting the truck wedged and unable to move, requiring C4 to collect the money.
  • Do not attempt to drive to a drop-off location that isn't marked. This doesn't work.
  • Be careful when approaching the drop-off, as a common tactic used by Criminals is to wait for you to stop at the location and ambush you. Make sure you have enough firepower to counter this, or bring a Forcefield Launcher if you have one. A Smoke Grenade is also recommended.

Criminals

  • Shoot the truck as soon and as much as possible in order for the truck not to get away. Keep in mind the high durability of the vehicle.
  • Kill the Police inside and around the truck to avoid getting arrested.
    • Alternatively, use a Black Hawk, Jet, or any explosive weapon to kill any Police in the truck. Killing the driver stops the truck and can even disable the truck completely.
  • If you can predict where the Police are heading with the truck, you can plan and execute an ambush at the drop-off which will force Police to either retreat or counterattack with less firepower.
  • If Police are inside the truck, you can throw C4 on the truck to ragdoll the Police, kill them as fast as you can, then rob it quickly to ensure you get as much money as you can.
  • If possible, bait the Police to drive the truck into the underground tunnel near the Bank. Due to its massive size, it cannot escape the tunnel, allowing you to kill the Police and rob the money.
  • Use the Minimap to your advantage. If you see flashing blue blips near the Bank Truck, that means Police are nearby.
  • It’s recommended to bring Rocket Launcher to kill the Police inside the bulletproof area.

Both

  • Maximize the number of players involved with the escort/pursuit of the Bank Truck, to improve the odds of successfully robbing the truck.
  • Move quickly and quietly to avoid getting spotted by any enemies.
  • Use team chat by typing "/t" or "/team" before a sentence so opposing team members won't know about your plans to deliver or rob cash from the Bank Truck.

Surprisingly fast at 225 MPH, making it faster than the Volt and Roadster but slightly slower than the Banana Car and Arachnid. Its poor launch and acceleration make it appear slow, however. Very high reverse speed, reaching up to 95 MPH. This is slightly faster than that of the Crown and Trailblazer. Comparable to Crew Capsule.

It takes a good part of a second for the Bank Truck to begin moving. It is better than that of the Firetruck. The launch offers a small burst of speed, and acceleration to top speed takes a long time, with the vehicle almost never reaching above 200MPH. Comparable to Camaro and Pickup.

Handling is pretty decent, but it can be hard to handle at top speed and parking the truck inside the delivery location space may be difficult. Its low acceleration and heavy mass allow it to off-road decently well, although it loses a lot of speed while driving over bumps or mounds and can flip over sometimes.

Has rather unremarkable braking power, coming to a full stop in around 2.5 seconds. Comparable to the Bloxy and Volt. The Bank Truck is tied with the Sloop with the most health in the game with 300 HP. Additionally, drivers and passengers only receive 40% of damage, the most out of any vehicle in the game. Trivia

  • The Bank Truck is based on the International Durastar Armored Cash Truck.
  • This heist originally required two Police officers to begin the robbery.
    • This was changed to only require one Police officer in the Bank Truck Update.
  • The Bank Truck's license plate differs from the default "ABC DEF" plates, reading as "G 122020".
    • "122020" may be a reference to December 20th, 2020, which was the month, day, and year that the Bank Truck was added to Jailbreak.
    • Originally, it had the license plate "G-0421", which referenced the release date of Jailbreak.
  • The Bank Truck used to drop cash that could be picked up if the rear was opened while the truck was moving.
    • This was removed in the Bank Truck Update, as the Bank Truck now immediately kicks the driver out and becomes immovable upon reaching the destination.
  • For a player to see where the truck is being driven, robbery markers have to be turned on in the setting menu.
  • The Bank Truck is bulletproof, meaning that Criminals cannot damage the Police Officers inside the truck (except by punching or using fire). One unintended side effect of this feature is that the player operating the Turret on top, despite being exposed, cannot take damage from gunfire.
  • When the Bank Truck blows up, it does not actually damage the players surrounding the vehicle, but it does ragdoll them.
  • The location next to the Mountainside Town Gun Shop used to be in front of the Glider Store, but was moved in a patch update released soon after.
  • As of the 2021 March Mid-Season Update, the number of Criminals required to be arrested were reduced from 25 to 20.
  • The Bank Truck is the only robbery vehicle that players can drive.
  • The Bank Truck used to be customizable at the hangars in the Military Base and Bounty Bay Airport.
    • You could also customize the Bank Truck by claiming a House while having the truck being your last used vehicle. Once you enter and exit your home, the Bank Truck will appear where your car normally appears with your last used customization options. You cannot drive it while it is inside the garaage.
      • This was patched for both the Bank Truck and the Semi in the Game Cleanup Update.
    • Customizing was also possible by using the Premium Garage gamepass.
      • This was also patched in a update.
    • In the 2025 Winter Update, Blizzards were introduced with the special ability to give spawned vehicles a white paint color. As a side effect of this, the Bank Truck is able to spawn with a white paint color instead of its normal black paint color.
  • There used to be a bug where despite the fact that the mounted turret is facing the rear, it will force the camera towards the front, requiring manually controlling the camera to be able to use the turret properly. This was fixed in the Bank Truck Update.
  • There used to be a bug where the Bank Truck did not take damage from getting struck by the Cargo Train or Passenger Train, despite every other vehicle doing so.
  • This is the only vehicle that cannot be locked by the driver as the lock button is simply non-existent when driving the truck.
    • The vehicle used to be able to be locked and eject players, but this was soon removed as this would allow the driver to simply kick out any players inside and allow them to keep the cash all to themselves.
    • There was an issue where using the Auto-Lock setting would lock the Bank Truck if you turned off this setting while inside and then exited the truck. This was patched in the 2025 Winter Update.
  • This is the only vehicle that can't be towed by a rope.
    • You could still lift the Bank Truck with a rope by moving the end of the rope through one of the side windows on the truck. The windows don't have collision, so you can fit the end of the rope inside the truck and lift it that way. This was patched in the Bank Truck Update however, since the truck was given a full remodel.
  • This is the smallest robbery in Jailbreak, with its size being comparable to vehicles like the Semi and Firetruck.

Miscellaneous Trivia

  • The Bank Truck is the only robbery to give the same amount of money regardless of Gamepass bonuses.
  • This is the fifth moving heist to be added in Jailbreak, after the Cargo Train, Passenger Train, Cargo Plane and Cargo Ship.
  • This was the first vehicle in the game to have a license plate on both the front and the rear of the vehicle.
    • The rear license plate was removed in the Bank Truck Update. It is unknown why.
      • All other land vehicles only have a license plate on the rear.
  • The Bank Truck is the first and currently the only heist that can be driven by players.
  • This is the first heist to make Police a major mechanic, and the third heist to allow Police to rob it as "robbery protection", the first being the Passenger Train and the second being the Cargo Ship.
  • This heist is the only one to give Police and Criminals the same amount, as the Cargo Ship and Passenger Train reward Police significantly less money than Criminals.
  • The name of the Bank Truck is inconsistent in different parts of the game.
    • The sign inside the Rising City Bank's garage and the text on the truck itself refer to it as the "Bank Truck".
    • The message in the Robbery Bonus Rewards roll refers to it as the "Money Truck".
  • The Bank Truck and the Prison Bus are the only vehicles in the game to reference a specific location inside of Jailbreak.
