The Bounty Island (or Prison Island or Alcatraz after the real life prison island in San Francisco) is a location added to Jailbreak in the Nukes Update of May 3, 2020.
The prison has been replaced with the new Maximum Security Prison building located inside the Prison in the Season 17 Update.
Overview
The Bounty Island replaced the Most Wanted Barracks in the Military Base, which was destroyed in the April 2020 Live Event. Players with a bounty of over 
$2,500 were imprisoned here when arrested, instead of the standard Prison.
Compared to the old high-security prison in the Military Base, this location is more difficult to escape. It features a short underwater section to swim through, and then a large rotating laser web and a long spiraling parkour course that players will need to survive in order to get out. Also, being a remote island, players were required to take a Jet Ski as a getaway vehicle, but if they don't have enough money they were forced to swim back to the main island.
With the Maximum Security Prison getting added on August 4th, 2023, the Bounty Island cells were removed, along with the obstacle.[1]
Escape
After spawning in their cell and waiting out the twenty-second imprisonment duration, prisoners would have been able to begin their escape. The first challenge was an underwater passageway found at the end of the main hallway. There were three openings of various elevations that players will need to swim through; players should progress with care as the floor dealt damage and stunned the player for a second or two.
Upon clearing the final opening and reaching the surface of the water, players found themselves in a large cylindrical area with small ledges and rotating lasers. This lengthy parkour course became more difficult if players take too much damage. When the lasers took health down to orange or red, it was advised to find a safe position and heal before attempting further progress; the more damaged a player is, the slower they will move, which made it harder to dodge lasers and jump to other platforms successfully.
By surviving the lasers and making it across every ledge, players would eventually reach the top of the island. At this point, they could make their way to the nearby docks, where they could take a Jet Ski and drive to the mainland. Cops rarely guarded this place, so you didn't need to worry about them. Then, they can follow the river to the City or go elsewhere.
Once the player makes it to the mainland, they can either continue to use the Jet Ski or spawn a vehicle using the Premium Garage gamepass. For players who do not own the gamepass, they should've headed to close vehicle spawns, such as the Bounty Bay Airport. Another good idea was to drive to the Tesla chargers near the river, as the vehicles that spawn there are useful and are close to the Rising City Gun Shop.
Notes
- While imprisoned on the island, resetting character via the Roblox options menu will respawn the player in their cell, forcing them to wait another 20 seconds.
- Taking too much damage and experiencing death while imprisoned on the island would cause the player to respawn at the normal Prison. This can be useful if players did not wish to complete the obstacle course, buy the Jet Ski, swim to shore, etc.
- This also applies to the new Maximum Security Prison.
- Spawning vehicles with the Premium Garage Gamepass is disabled on and near the island.
- The Bounty Island is important for the unlocking of the second secret in the Nukes Update. A Sloop or Cruiser must sail into the shipwreck on the island while the map is raining. This will transform the Sloop into a haunted, rotting green ship with moss growing over it, or the Cruiser into a darker shade of green.
- Players that came out of the hole should have watched out for an incoming Cargo Ship, as it passes near the island and the missiles, that target players, can damage or even kill.

Trivia
- The shipwreck found on the island appears to be a broken Sloop.
- The nickname of this place is "Alcatraz", reference to the real-life island prison located in San Francisco Bay, California. This is similar to how the Military Base got the nickname "Area 51".
- The lasers found at this location are the only ones in Jailbreak that rotate.
- The lasers in the Maximum Security Prison now rotate instead.
- Beside the shipwreck, a small skeleton was propped up on a tree. There was also a sword beside it.
- The sword was removed from Prison Island in the Fall 2020 Update, and can be equipped at the gun shops and the Military Base War Room.
- The Bounty Island did not appear on the Minimap until the Cargo Ship update.
- This was the only vehicle spawn in the middle of the ocean.
- There is a glitch at the Shipwreck where when you continuously jump while making your way to the tip of the shipwreck and then jump off, you will start bouncing around on the ocean, or if you're lucky, bounce all the way into the sky where you can press parachute and then glide down to wherever you want to go. This glitch was brought to light by a popular Jailbreak Youtuber and streamer, HelloItsVG.
- The Bounty Island is the second latest Prisoner spawn point, before its replacement, the Maximum Security Prison.
- It is also the second team spawn point in the expansion area after now removed Police Station 3.
- The Bounty Island was the lowest point of any man-made structure on the map; the closest competitors are the Bank's Presidential Vault and Corridor Vaults.
- A glitch is that as a criminal or prisoner, resetting inside the maximum security prison will turn you into a prisoner of the maximum security prison.
- If the server has high count of police, the Bounty Island could have been considered easier to escape than the regular prison due to the lack of police in the area. The surrounding area is both remote and unpopulated, further decreasing the chances of encountering the police after escaping.
- The Prison from the island has now been filled with dirt and grass, and the new facility can be found at the Prison.
