The Bank Truck (also known as Cash Truck or Money Truck) is a mobile heist. It was added in the 2020 Winter Update.

Overview

To rob the Bank Truck, Police must make 20 arrests for the Bank Truck to fill up with money. Eventually, the Police will be able to enter the Truck, and the game will randomly assign a location for the Police to deliver the money to. There must be a minimum of 2 Police officers inside the truck to start the robbery. If the robbery has already started, then there will only need to be 1 Police officer driving the truck, though this is rarely seen.

Criminals will try to stop the Police from delivering the cash to the location by stopping the vehicle, which can be done either ramming it, causing it to fall over, or popping its tires. If this is successfully performed, the criminals will then be able to blow open the back doors of the truck with C4, gaining access to the money inside. The criminals can then rob the truck as much as they like.

On the Bank Truck is a bomb timer, which will detonate if the Police do not reach the assigned drop off location in time or Criminals do not rob it in time. The money will be lost if the timer reaches 0:00. It is recommended to drive as fast as possible to the drop off location to avoid the bomb detonating and failing to deliver or rob cash.

The Bank Truck will also begin dropping individual stacks of money when driving around while the back doors are opened. Each cash stack gives Cash Icon100.

Robbing

Police

Police officers need to make 20 arrests (police can arrest the same criminal over and over again) to be able to drive the Bank Truck. Once 20 criminals have been arrested, a notification will pop up to every Police officer on the server about every minute indicating the truck is ready to be driven.

In order to be driven, two Police officers are required to be inside. Once two players are in the truck, drive to the drop-off before the time bomb goes off. The drop-off is shown as a large exclamation mark GUI, similar to the robbery markers. If the truck is not driven to the drop-off location on time or if Police or criminals do not deliver or rob the truck in time, the truck will blow up, resulting in all the money inside being lost.

Once driven to the drop-off, Police officers can collect cash. Once they are satisfied with the amount or collected all the money, they must move away from the Bank Truck to collect the cash.

Criminals

When the Police are driving the Bank Truck, criminals can go after it. Criminals will first need to stop the truck from getting away by shooting out its tires or ramming it with a vehicle and knocking it over. Then, they must use a C4 and stick onto the rear door of the Bank Truck to blow it open. They can then enter the truck and collect the money. Once satisfied with the amount of cash robbed, Criminals may exit the Bank Truck to collect the money. There will certainly be Police along the way, so criminals should take them out before blowing open the door and robbing.

Delivery Locations

There are eight possible locations that Police officers can be assigned to when delivering.

Location Description
Donut Shop Drop-off located right next to the entrance of the Donut Shop and next to Mountainside Town Garage 2.
Mountainside Town Gun Shop Drop-off located at the parking lot just to the left of the Mountainside Town Gun Shop.
Prison Drop-off located in the Prison Parking lot, right outside Prison Police Station.
Bounty Bay Airport Drop-off located between the terminal and hangar. A gate that was installed in the Winter 2020 Update allows the Bank Truck and other land vehicles to enter without ramping in.
Mountainside Town Gas Station Drop-off located at the right side of the Mountainside Town Gas Station.
Casino Drop-off located in front of the Casino entrance.
Crater City Bank Drop-off located at the side entrance of the Crater City Bank. Also near the Badger spawn on one of the Crater City beaches.
Grocery Store (removed) Drop-off located located at back of Grocery Store. Removed when it was turned into the 1M Dealership
Secret Agent Base (removed) Drop-off located outside the entrance.

Tips and Tricks

Police

  • Encourage more Police officers on the team to make enough arrests to start the collecting.
  • Use routes which have low traffic, but is also the fastest route to avoid the bomb detonating before the drop off location is reached.
  • If you have it, use the Forcefield Launcher and deploy a forcefield inside the truck. This will prevent criminals from killing you and heal you up if you were already low on health.
  • Do not drive the truck down the underground tunnel next to the Bank, as the truck will be unable to back up because of its low power. Additionally, do not drive the truck through the bridge heading to Police Station 2, as the truck will be unable to fit through the bridge due to the turret and low clearance of the bridge.
  • After delivering or robbing cash, get into the driver's seat of the truck and drive in circles. This will make cash fall out of the truck for players to collect. It is better to do the Volt first-person glitch in the passenger seat and spam WASD or spin the camera so the truck spins in circles and spills cash. Another method would be to drift and do donuts.
  • Be careful when you make your stop, as a common tactic used by criminals is to wait for you to stop at the drop-off location and then shoot at you. Make sure you have enough firepower to counter this, or bring a Forcefield Launcher if you have one. A Smoke Grenade is also recommended.
  • If criminals have taken control of the truck, hide somewhere and wait until they are all inside. Come out of your hiding place, and immediately arrest every criminal inside. There is a chance that no Police officer will come to the truck, giving you lots of cash from the truck and considerable amount from arrests.

Criminals

  • Shoot the tires as soon as possible in order for the truck not to get away. Keep in mind the high health of the vehicle.
  • Kill the Police inside the truck and around the truck, to avoid getting arrested.
  • Alternatively, use a Black Hawk or Jet to kill any Police in the truck. Killing the driver stops the truck.
  • When Police are in the process of delivering cash, go somewhere fairly far away from the truck and shoot the Police inside. This will allow you to rob the truck without Police interference. Use weapons that deal lots of damage in one shot to kill them faster, such as the Flintlock and Revolver.
  • If Police are inside the truck, you can throw C4 on the truck to ragdoll the Police, kill them as fast as you can, then rob it quickly to ensure you get as much money as you can.
  • If possible, bait the Police to drive the truck into the underground tunnel near the Bank. Due to its massive size and low power, it cannot back out of the tunnel, allowing you to kill the Police and rob money.
  • A good tactic is to wait for the Police to get to their stop. When they jump out, start firing at them, so you could kill them easily without much issue.
  • Use the Minimap to your advantage. If you see a flashing blue blip near the Bank Truck, find the officer near you and kill them. If you redeemed cash in the process, you can still go back into the truck and rob more cash.
  • If there are lots of criminals inside the truck, make sure the people closest to the rear door hold weapons, because they are the only ones that can shoot Police outside, as criminals inside would be blocked by them.
  • It’s recommended to bring Rocket Launcher to kill the Police inside the bulletproof area.

Both

  • Limit the number of players on board to get the highest payout as possible.
  • Remain stealthy in order to avoid being killed/arrested on their respective teams.
  • Use team chat by typing "/t" before a sentence so opposing team members won't know about your plans to deliver or rob cash from the Bank Truck.

Surprisingly fast at 225 MPH, making it faster than the Volt and Roadster but slightly slower than the Banana Car and Arachnid. Its poor launch and acceleration make it appear slow, however. Very high reverse speed, reaching up to 95 MPH. This is slightly faster than that of the Crown and Trailblazer. Comparable to Crew Capsule.

Acceleration
Mediocre
2s
It takes a a good part of a second for the Bank Truck to begin moving. It is better than that of the Firetruck. The launch offers a small burst of speed, and acceleration to top speed takes a long time, with the vehicle almost never reaching above 200MPH. Comparable to Camaro and Pickup.

Handling is pretty decent, but it can be hard to handle at top speed and parking the truck inside the delivery location space may be difficult. Its low acceleration and heavy mass allow it to off-road decently well, although it loses a lot of speed while driving over bumps or mounds and can flip over sometimes.
Braking
Decent

Durability
Phenomenal
5s
Has rather unremarkable braking power, coming to a full stop in around 2.5 seconds. Comparable to the Bloxy and Volt. The Bank Truck is tied with the Tank, Semi and Goliath as vehicles with the second most health in the game with 200 HP, only beaten by the Sloop's 300 HP. Additionally, drivers and passengers only receive 40% of damage, the most out of any vehicle in the game.

Trivia

  • The Bank Truck resembles the International Durastar Armored Cash Truck.
  • Even though this heist requires at least 2 players to start, 1 player can complete the robbery if the other player(s) leave or get off.
  • The Bank Truck's license plate differs from the default "ABC DEF" plates, reading as "G-0421".
    • "0421" may be a reference to April 21, was the month and day that Jailbreak released to the public.
  • This is the first non-player object in-game that drops cash that can be picked up.
  • For a player to see where the truck is when being driven, robbery markers have to be turned on in the setting menu.
  • The Bank Truck is bulletproof, meaning that Criminals cannot damage the Police Officers inside the truck (unless by punching or using explosives). One unintended feature of this function is that the player operating the Turret on top, while exposed, cannot take damage, unless by getting punched, using explosives, or melee weapons.
  • Despite players having steering animations, the Bank Truck does not feature a steering wheel.
  • When the Bank Truck blows up, it does not actually damage the players surrounding the vehicle, unlike other explosions in the game.
  • The location next to the Mountainside Town Gun Shop used to be in front of the Glider Store, but was moved in a patch update released soon after.
  • As of the 2021 March Mid-Season Update, the number of criminals required to be arrested were reduced from 25 to 20.
  • The Bank Truck is the only robbery vehicle that players can drive.
  • The Bank Truck can be customized at the hangars in the Military Base and Bounty Bay Airport.
    • Customizing is also possible by using the Premium Garage gamepass.
      • This has been patched in a update.
  • This is the only vehicle that cannot be locked by the driver.
    • The vehicle used to be able to be locked and eject players, but this was soon removed as this would allow the driver to simply kick out any players inside and allow them to keep the cash all to themselves.
    • This is the only vehicle that can't be lifted by a rope.
  • This is the smallest robbery in Jailbreak.

Miscellaneous Trivia

  • The Bank Truck is the only robbery to give the same amount of money regardless of Gamepasses.
  • This is the fifth moving heist to be added in Jailbreak, after the Cargo Train, Passenger Train, Cargo Plane, and Cargo Ship.
  • This is the first vehicle in the game to have a license plate on both the front and the rear of the vehicle. All other land vehicles only have a license plate on the rear.
  • The Bank Truck is the first and currently the only heist that can be driven by players.
  • This is the second robbery that requires at least 2 players to start, the first being the Museum.
  • This is the first heist to make Police a major mechanic, and the third heist to allow Police to rob it (although in this case it's not actually robbing, as the Police are collecting it in the name of "robbery protection"), the first being the Passenger Train and the second being the Cargo Ship.
  • This heist is the only one to give Police and Criminals the same amount, as the Cargo Ship and Passenger Train do not reward Police the same as criminals.
  • Different parts of the game refer to the Bank Truck differently and there is no unified name.
    • The sign where the Bank Truck is stabilized refers to it as the "Cash Truck".
    • The message informing Police officers that it can be driven refers to it as the "Bank Truck".
    • The message in the Robbery Bonus Rewards roll refers to it as the "Money Truck".
  • The Bank Truck and the Prison Bus are the only vehicles in the game to reference a specific location inside of Jailbreak.
