This page is about the seasonal hovercar. For the now-removed Blade, see here. For the gamepass Rolls-Royce, see Celestial.

The Celsior is a seasonal vehicle in Jailbreak. Modeled by SharkyCat109, it was featured as the grand prize of Season 8: Looking to the Future. [1]

The Celsior could be obtained by reaching Level 10 through contracts. Unlike previous seasonal vehicles, the Celsior's value is "Free" in the garage.

Overview[]

The Celsior appears to be inspired by the Rolls-Royce 103EX concept vehicle, with a heavily modified exterior and interior, plus the ability to hover. The vehicle's most remarkable appearance traits are its arrowhead-shaped front-end, sleek and futuristic design, and scissor doors. Hologram stairs appear by the doors when it is idle.

Attempting to buy the vehicle will give a notification which reads that this vehicle is from another season, as with other seasonal vehicles.

Previously, due to its "Free" value, the Celsior was the only seasonal vehicle that could be spawned anywhere, even for players who do not own the Premium Garage Gamepass. This was most likely intentional, as asimo3089 emphasized that suitable stats were given so that the vehicle would not be overpowered.[2] However, as of a later update, its max altitude has been buffed, and non-premium garage users cannot spawn it anymore.

Performance[]

The Celsior has a top speed which has been tested to be within 114-115 MPH after the nerf, sometime after the trailer where it was around 130 MPH. In contrary, its acceleration is among the best of the game. The vehicle's reverse speed only reaches 76 MPH, unlike other aerial vehicles which share the same reverse speed with their forward speed.

The Celsior has great maneuverability and fast steering response time, outperforming other aerial vehicles, accompanied by decent braking.

Its maximum height altitude is very slightly lower than the Crew Capsule's while on flat ground, but this has little effect due to its hovering physics. However, it can become a problem when trying to go over very tall and steep terrain in a quick period of time.

Overall, the Celsior's hovering abilities and its 4 seats may be able to compensate for some of its drawbacks.

The Celsior has a top speed of 114 MPH, which is slower than the Camaro and Tiny Toy, but faster than the Crew Capsule, Helicopter, and the Little Bird. It is worth mentioning that when accelerating and holding Q, the speed increases to 119 MPH. Unlike all helicopters and the Drone, the Celsior's reverse speed, which can only get up to 76 MPH, is not the same as its forward speed. However, it is only 40 MPH less than its forward speed. It is slightly slower than the Parisian by 1 MPH.

The Celsior's launch is decent, competing with the Icebreaker. The Celsior's acceleration is among the best, slightly faster than that of the Little Bird.

The Celsior's steering response time is very fast, thus being able to perform maneuvers that would be impossible on most other aircraft. At first glance, the Celsior has one of the worst maximum altitudes in the game, comparable with the Crew Capsule. However, its position is relative to the ground's position, and its maximum height changes with different elevations, making it useful in many situations.

Braking is decently fast, which takes around 2.5 seconds to come to a full stop. Comparable to the La Matador. 50 health, with a disable duration of 15 seconds. Identical to the Volt and Crew Capsule.

Trivia[]

  • In response to many requests asking for a buff for the Celsior, asimo3089 had said that the current speed is permanent, but that the max altitude would be increased by a bit.[2] This change was added on March 5th, 2022.
  • There is a bug where players could use the C4 to increase the Celsior's max altitude temporarily. This method is not very efficient as the C4 despawns after a while.
  • The holographic stairs do not have any collision.
  • If players exit the vehicle while it is still moving, they might find themselves stuck inside of it. This can be fixed by re-entering and exiting and slowing down the vehicle.

Engine sound[]

  • Leaks from inventories of asimo3089 and badcc show that the Celsior shares the same engine sound with the now-removed Blade.
    • Its engine sound is known as a Shepard tone, a note that seems like it keeps on rising, even though it does not.
      • A Shepard tone can lead people to Shepard Madness, which is a condition where if someone listens to a Shepard tone for too long, they will feel sick or dizzy. Players who experience any of these symptoms should stop using the vehicle, mute the in-game audio, switch to another one, or take a break from the game.
    • The Celsior's engine sound was slightly changed on March 11th, 2022.[3] It was later changed the next day to remove the popping sounds in the audio.[4]

Reddit submission post[]

  • The Celsior's submission post gained almost 600 upvotes on Reddit,[5] which made it the most upvoted seasonal prize ever at the time. As of June 2022, it is the second most upvoted post in r/JailbreakCreations.
    • It was later surpassed by the Macaron, the Level 10 prize of Season 10: Rich and Famous.
      • Despite the number of upvotes, Badimo stated that it was not the reason the vehicle was chosen, but because the model fitted the season, it was unique, and it was a change of pace from the usual grand prizes.[6]
        • Due to its initial popularity, this had led to a few community members insulting other submissions, which was called out by asimo3089.[7][8]
  • Compared to the model shown in SharkyCat109's original Reddit submission post, the in-game model has several differences: it is noticibly about 20% shorter and it has holographic stairs.

Miscellaneous trivia[]

  • The Celsior is the first community-made aerial vehicle in the game.
  • The Celsior is the first aerial vehicle to have first-person driving.
  • The Celsior appears to be based on real life Rolls-Royce Silent Shadow, with some notable differences.
    • First of all, the front grill of the real life one is square-shaped, while the in-game one has a V shaped front grill. The real life one also has two back-lights, while the in-game one has one single back-light.
      • This is the second Rolls-Royce vehicle, after the Celestial, and the first and only Rolls-Royce to be a limited and seasonal vehicle.
  • The Celsior is the fourth vehicle that can hover, after the Blade, Drone, and the Crew Capsule.
    • This is also the second seasonal vehicle that can hover, after the Crew Capsule.
  • The Celsior is the second vehicle made by SharkyCat109, the first being the Trailblazer and third being the Bloxy.
  • The Celsior is the second seasonal vehicle to seat four players, with the first being the Icebreaker and third being the Longhorn.
  • Despite the Celsior having a steering wheel, there is no player steering animation and the character sits like it is driving a helicopter.
