Did this thing get a makeover?

This vehicle has been remodeled, as its previous model was outdated compared to newer vehicle models.
Remodeled on: December 15th, 2023.
Same face, different name.

The following Jailbreak vehicle has been renamed. This was likely done to avoid copyright, as prior names took directly from real-life car brands.
Former in-game name: Chiron.

This page is about the Bugatti model from 2020, now-revamped in 2023. For its predecessor, see Brulee. For the seasonal vehicle, see Beignet. For the second seasonal Bugatti, see the Macaron.

The Eclaire (formerly named the Chiron) is a hypercar in Jailbreak added in the Gun Skins Update. It is known for being an improved Bugatti model that features a detailed interior and sharp design, the first of its kind. It replaces its predecessor, the Brulee, which was retired in the same update.

Upon release owners of the Brulee were given Cash Icon200,000 to help them with purchasing the Eclaire. The Eclaire spawns near the Jewelry Store, which was also the Brulee's spawn point prior to its retirement.

Overview

Current

On November 8, 2023, pizzawroles announced to his followers that the back of the original model he made was different than the back of the model in the game at the time, and asked if it was better than asimo3089's model. When his followers said that the back side of the original model he made was better, pizzawroles announced that he would revamp this model again.

On December 14, 2023, asimo3089 announced on his Twitter (now X) account that pizzawroles had made a new model for Eclaire. This revamp was made on December 15, 2023, a day after the announcement, when the 2023 Winter Update arrived. It now features more intricate details, a more faithful taillights design, as well as added elements like carbon fibre and a NoobFreak homage on the steering wheel. This makes Eclaire the most revamped vehicle in the game with 2 revamps.

Revamp #1

The Eclaire has been remodeled with an all new look as part of the 2023 5 Days of Vehicles. Modeled by pizzawroles, it now features a modern interior, updated exterior, functioning doors, and a new startup sound.[1] The current version of the Eclaire borrows elements from the Chiron Pur Sport, which is a handling-focused model of the Chiron. It was given another revamp on December 15th, 2023.

Original

As the Eclaire had introduced features that set it apart from others, it set the standard for all vehicles after it. One of these is the first-person driving mechanic, which has been added to all newer vehicles and revamps for older vehicles. Players can activate first-person driving by pressing the "C" key or pressing the camera icon at the top of the screen on mobile or console. The driver's camera angle will be locked into place right behind the steering wheel, the drivers hands will also move as they are steering.

In addition, its detailed interior is almost fully customizable, as is the case with the majority of other vehicles with interiors. Players can change the color of the seats, the main srufaces, and the other details. Only the steering wheel cannot be customized. It was given a revamp on November 7th, 2023.

Performance

The Eclaire has received a very positive reception from the majority of the playerbase. Its top speed is above a large majority of vehicles in Jailbreak like the Airtail, M12 Molten and MCL36, but loses to the Brulee, Torpedo and Javelin. It has one of the fastest reverse speeds; its launch and acceleration beats many vehicles except for the Roadster, Dune Buggy and Volt; it has good off-roading, and powerful brakes. A previous disadvantage was that it had bad grip, but has since been improved. Its top speed was slightly buffed as of November 2023.

Overall, the Eclaire is one of the best vehicles to buy and is one of the best vehicles in performance. Many players recommend it for gameplay.

The Eclaire now reaches blazing speeds of 320 MPH, being slightly faster than Beignet, Parisian and Concept, but tying with the Carbonara. It is only slower than the Javelin, Brulee, Jet Ski and Torpedo, making it the 4th fastest land vehicle, 5th fastest vehicle overall, and the fastest car on sale. The Eclaire's reverse speed is incredible, tying with the M12 Molten and Concept at 80 MPH. However, it's slower than the Beignet.

At 69 MPH, it has one of the fastest launch speeds, being slightly slower than the Beignet and Javelin. Also slightly faster than the Carbonara and Desert Crawler. Comparable to the Trailblazer. The Eclaire has incredible acceleration, It can surpass 200 MPH in about 8-9 seconds. Also it can reach 270 MPH in 15 seconds. As of Carbonara's release, acceleration is unintentionally buffed. Currently, acceleration is comparable to the Javelin.

The Eclaire's handling is pretty decent overall. However due to a turning value of 1.4, at speeds over 240 MPH, it becomes somewhat hard to control. It is also more slippery than almost all other vehicles in rain. Terrain climbing is great, but the ground clearance is low when not on high suspension. It is decently stable when off-roading. It is comparable to the Brulee.

It takes an estimated 1 second to come to a full stop making it one of the best. Similar to the Beignet. The Eclaire has 75 health. It ties with every other Bugatti except for the Brulee.

Trivia

  • The latest version of the Eclaire features an "NF" symbol on the steering wheel, the icon of Jailbreak YouTuber NoobFreak.
  • After the revamp, the Eclaire bears most resemblance to the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport variant. However, it doesn't include the spoiler found on it's real life counterpart.
  • The huge amount of backlash around the Eclaire was due to it being slower than the Brulee and Torpedo which ended up with asimo3089 posting a tweet telling people that the Chiron in-game was not the 304 MPH capable version, but rather the 261 MPH standard variant. It falls behind the 277 MPH of the Koenigsegg Agera RS the Torpedo is based on, and the 268 MPH of the Bugatti Veyron the Brulee is based on.
  • The vehicle's original model featured the square-shaped LED daytime-running lights the real-life car has. They were scrapped in development, likely to reduce parts.
    • In the revamp the headlights were brought back likely due to how much more the game's optimization had improved since its original release.
  • The Eclaire was initially leaked by FackerPL on Twitter. He posted screenshots of asimo3089's mesh inventory, which showed pieces of the Eclaire. Soon after, the leak was publicized by YouTubers. Weeks later, the official announcement tweets were posted by Badimo.
  • Though the majority of the Eclaire's interior can be customized, the steering wheel cannot.
  • On release, the Eclaire's interior could not be customized. The ability to customize the Eclaire's interior was added in the Nukes Update.
  • The Eclaire's seats are somewhat pure black - this means even if a player uses a light color such as white, the seats will still appear black.
  • The Eclaire's engine used to go silent at max speeds, similar to the JB8, Stallion, and Megalodon. This was patched in the Season 6 Update.
  • When in first-person driving, the camera zooms into the left side of the vehicle as it a left hand drive.
  • If a player wears an item such as the Yellow Tye Dye Hat and the Pal Hair, their view when driving in first person will be obstructed.
    • This has since been patched.
  • The hood of the Eclaire does not have a collision box, meaning that players can walk through the front of the car and can go inside.
  • The Eclaire spawns in blue and cyan, which is a reference to the launch color combination of the Chiron in real life.
    • As of the revamp it now spawns in blue and black similarly reflecting its real life counterpart's color scheme.
  • The Eclaire revamp was expected by the community for quite a while, being one of the most out of date models in the game.
    • asimo3089 had also hinted to this by saying on X (formerly Twitter) that it was dated.

Miscellaneous Trivia

  • The Eclaire previously had a 6-speed transmission but was changed to a 5-speed after its second buff.
  • This is the first vehicle with an interior to receive a revamp.
  • This is the first vehicle to be revamped twice.
    • The first revamp was during the 2023 5 Days of Vehicles Event on November 8, 2023 which caused controversy as many did not like the model, stating that it was outdated and one of the creator's first models, which did not represent him well.
    • The second revamp was in the 2023 Winter Update on December 15, 2023 after Pizzawroles had decided to redo his design.
  • This is the first vehicle in Jailbreak to replace a retired vehicle, with the Surus, Challenger, Deja, Boxer, and the Drone replacing vehicles after it.
  • In Miscellaneous Update 103, the Chiron was renamed to the Eclaire (meaning "enlightened" in French), most likely to avoid copyright.
    • An Eclaire is also a French pastry dish, this fits the name theme with the other Bugatti branded vehicles.
  • The Eclaire is the first vehicle to feature a detailed interior and first-person driving.
  • The Eclaire is the second Bugatti branded vehicle added into the game, after the Brulee.
    • Bugatti is the third car brand to have multiple cars in Jailbreak, after Ford and Chevrolet, and before Lamborghini, McLaren and Porsche.
  • The performance was buffed twice shortly after its release, first in the Flintlock Bonus Update on March 21, 2020, and second in the Ocean/Ships Update on April 4, 2020.
  • The Eclaire is the first vehicle where owners of the vehicle being replaced were given in-game cash to help them buy the replacement. The Drone is the second.
  • The Eclaire is the most customizable car in Jailbreak, as it has a secondary colour and a fully customizable interior.
    • The Eclaire is also the first car to have the "Seat Color" option, due to it being the first car to have a customizable interior.
      • This allows players to color the seats of the Posh and the Jeep.
  • The Eclaire has every customizable part possible in Jailbreak.
  • The Eclaire is the only Bugatti-based vehicle to not be unobtainable in any form.
  • The Eclaire is the third vehicle to have received a price increase, with the first being the Cybertruck, second being the Stunt and fourth being the Jet Ski.
