The Beam Hybrid was a seasonal vehicle in Jailbreak, released in the 2020 Winter Update. It could have been redeemed for free after reaching Level 10 in Season 1: New Beginnings.

Overview

The Beam Hybrid is based on the BMW i8, a hybrid sports car developed by BMW. It was initially introduced by Badimo as a "super exclusive two-tone supercar with working butterfly doors and a high-detail interior".

The Beam Hybrid is a futuristic sports car with a striking and dynamic appearance; its design is a perfect blend of sportiness and modernity. Its front features a sleek and closed-off grille, giving the vehicle a distinct and aggressive look. The slim and sharp LED headlights as well as the signature butterfly doors add a touch of sophistication and an overall futuristic vibe to the vehicle.

Players had 45 days from the beginning of the season to grind levels towards the Beam Hybrid, which became unobtainable when Season 1: New Beginnings ended. It is stated to be the rarest vehicle in the game by the developers, and is hardly ever seen because not many players own it.

Performance

In terms of overall performance, the Beam is balanced. It features decent acceleration, handling and surprisingly proficient off-roading. However, the Beam Hybrid is slower than some supercars, including all hypercars. It is, however, faster than most general vehicles.

The Beam Hybrid can reach speeds of around 194 MPH on the Jailbreak map. It beats the Shell Classic and La Matador. However, it is slightly slower than the JB8 and the Bandit.	Above average reverse speed. It competes with the Delorean at 54 MPH.

At 55 MPH, the Beam Hybrid's launch is quite impressive for a mid-tier supercar. It beats La Matador, Stallion and the Banana Car. However, it loses to the Brulee by just 1 MPH.	It takes around 12 seconds to reach top speed on straight roads, which is comparable to the Megalodon.
Handling Excellent	Off-Roading Excellent
The Beam Hybrid has good grip which prevents the car from being slippery and ensures a good driving experience. It is similar to the NASCAR and NASCAR Free.	Off-roading is surprisingly good for a supercar, similar to the Eclaire. It can climb dunes with ease and get up rather steep terrain.
Braking Incredible	Durability Great
It takes less than a second to brake to a complete stop. It is tied with the Eclaire, while losing to the Airtail and Roadster.	The Beam Hybrid has 100 health, which beats out many vehicles such as the Roadster. It ties with the Torpedo, but loses to heavier vehicles such as the Raptor.

Trivia

• This car is based on the BMW i8.
• The car does not cost any cash. The price tag on it refers to its value if it costed cash. The car cannot be obtained without reaching Level 10 in Season 1.
  • Although the vehicle’s price is listed, after redeeming the car, the money the player had would not be affected.
    • This is also true for every other season car in-game.
• During Season 1, if the redeem prompt wasn't clicked upon reaching Level 10, it was possible to actually buy the Beam Hybrid. To do this, players would need to have the Beam Hybrid's purchase prompt opened up, and when reaching Level 10, avoid the 'Redeem' button, and click 'Buy' on the Beam Hybrid's purchase prompt in order to buy it.
• Upon the release of Season 2: Out of This World, the price tag was changed from 500,000 to 100,000.
• Its default license plate reads "SEASON 1", stating its obtainability was during Season 1.
  • This car also has a tag on the back reading "Rare Item".
    • This trait is shared with other early seasonal vehicles such as the Crew Capsule, Volt 4X4, Rattler, and the Banana Car.
• The notification when attempting to buy the Beam Hybrid after Season 1 ended is not the one that pops up when attempting to with past seasonal vehicles. Instead, it is the same as when players try to buy retired vehicles.
• asimo3089 said that the Beam is currently the rarest car in the game in this tweet.
  • Finally, this was confirmed in a Trading data dump released by badcc.
  • Lia's Spaceship is technically rarer than this vehicle. However, because it is exclusive to one player, it is not considered as the rarest vehicle in-game.
• The first player known to own the Beam Hybrid other than the developers is Jailbreak YouTuber HelloItsVG.
  • An alternate account was used to obtain the Beam Hybrid. However, it has since been banned.
  • He got the Beam Hybrid very early because of a glitch that allowed you to do the same contract several times, making it possible to get the Beam in about 1-2 days.

Miscellaneous Trivia

• The Beam Hybrid is the first hybrid vehicle in Jailbreak, with the Airtail being the second.
• The Beam Hybrid is the first and currently the only BMW car in Jailbreak.
• Like the Challenger, the Beam Hybrid is designed to have four seats but only seats two. In real life, the BMW i8 has a seating capacity of four, but the seats in the back are hard to enter.
  • This is also a similar case to the Roadster. However its in-game model doesn't have the backseats.
• The Beam Hybrid has somewhat larger rims than other cars.
  • This trait is shared with a few other cars like the Challenger and some of the super and hyper cars.
