For the bank in Rising City, see Rising City Bank. For the mobile heist located in the aforementioned, see Bank Truck.

The Crater City Bank is the newest robbery located inside Crater City. The bank offers the Basement, Blue Floor, Deductions, and Presidential Vault from the classic Rising City Bank. [1]

Overview

The Crater City Bank was added in the Season 18 Update. It shares a similar layout to the classic Bank. It has 2 main entrances, an ATM in the lobby, and a side entrance which requires a keycard. Once entering the bank, it works similarly to the classic bank, with the difference of the side exit being at the front rather than at the back of the stairs. The floors are the same to the classic bank, though.

The bank opens alongside the Casino with the new robbery group opening system. The Oil Rig was soon after added in Group C in the Season 20 Update.

The main purpose of this bank is to reduce the instance of bank campers (since the two banks are far apart) and to encourage more people to visit Crater City and rob the bank, which increases the demand for keycards and the Crater City Penthouse, along with the casino, which is nearby and is in the same robbery group.

A Bank Truck drop off spot is located outside the Bank. With the new bank, the criminal movement will increase there, increasing the difficulty of the bank truck robbery. The Jetpack was also formerly located on the roof of the bank, making it more popular.

Bank Floors

Overview

The Basement floor was added in the NASCAR Update and is currently the second newest Bank floor in Jailbreak.

When entering the vault, players will walk along an elevated walkway (which has no lasers), where they will then descend down a set of stairs. Players will then have to jump over a line of lasers (which do not move) on the floor towards the top right corner of the room, which is where the vault itself is located.

The no-keycard escape route can be found directly behind the door of the vault.

Overview

Floor: Blue is arguably the easiest Bank floor to rob. The interior, from walls to furniture, is a shade of blue.

The floor drops directly down through an elevator shaft, similar to the Presidential Vault. After dropping down, in front of the player would be the metallic door, serving as the only method of escaping in this variant. Behind the player would be four sets of laser obstacles, each with one laser to jump over and a vertically moving laser above it. At the end of the obstacles is the safe vault, which is decorated with case files and cash.

To escape, criminals can go through the metal explosive door right next to the entrance. Alternatively, they can jump on to one of the handle of the elevator, get up to the top of the elevator and exit through the main door.

Overview

Floor: Deductions is a rather tricky - although still easy to rob - floor with several moving lasers awaiting. Walk down the staircase to a large room. To the right is an open area filled with moving lasers and the Bank vault. The lasers start from the walls, move, and meet up in the middle of the obby. There is a pattern to the laser movement, though it can be difficult to tell for inexperienced players. Go straight and players will end up at the metallic door to the ladder.

The ladder escape is much more unique in this variant because once the door blows and opens, the right wall when standing away from the door will move left and block the path leading to the vault, cutting off any incoming players from entering through that route. Just as happens, part of the first wall that can be seen when climbing down the stairs will open up to a blue laser lobby. The metallic door will also lead to this room. The room consists of a few jumps and two crawling points with the ladder at the end of the lobby. It is also worth noting that the path will revert to how it was before once the door closes.

Overview

The Presidential Vault is arguably the hardest variant of all to rob. After players drop down the hatch, there is a wide, empty corridor, consisting of a solid translucent laser wall that moves from the front to the back of the corridor. When players touch this wall, they can ragdoll/fall to the ground, allowing the laser to make more damage. To get past it, players must run towards a 'safe point' - small gaps in the wall where then they can hide and wait for the laser wall to pass again. After one or two turns of this, players will reach the vault.

The vault in this variant is the only one yet to feature lasers inside, having a few lasers on the ground which can be jumped over. However, the difficulty is avoiding damage from the vertical lasers moving back and forth. Players can avoid this by moving left and right, or aligning themselves with the gaps that are in between the 3 incoming lasers. There are 2 sets of these and each has 3 bars that follow inversely, dividing the room into halves. On each side is a gap the player can stand in to pass part of the lasers, however, the player cannot enter the vault in these gaps. They do help in reaching the halfway point, however.

Like all the other floors, the main exits are a ladder leading to a grate and the entrance. Although it may not seem like you can leave the way you came in, a ladder that is slightly hidden is inside the shaft. Since the entrance section is dark, blending the ladder with the wall, inexperienced players can easily overlook it. The other way is the metallic door, which is located directly opposite the vault. The corridor behind the door has a few lasers on the ground and 3 vertical lasers that move diagonally. At the end is a laser wall made of 4 smaller lasers that can obstruct your exit, as they are solid, unlike their counterparts. Duck under this wall to reach the ladder and escape. This method of escaping is highly recommended due to players not having to risk exiting through the front door. Note that cops can still camp both exits, however.

Robbing the Bank

Items

Several items may be brought to increase the chances of successfully robbing the building:

  • Keycard: Required to access the Bank. Players can still access the Bank if another player lets them inside.
  • Weapons: Recommended at all times, used to kill Police that attempt to arrest players in the Bank.
  • Donut/Forcefield Launcher: Used to heal health if players are in low health.
  • C4: Put one near the entrance and detonate it. Players can also place them near lasers so Police officers will be thrown in the air and die.
  • Dogs: Attacks the Police when a Criminal damages a cop. It is immune to lasers and can run fast to attack Police. A Bulldog is recommended because it can do more damage to Police.

Entering

After obtaining a Keycard, players can open the metal door leading to the stairs or use the side door on the right side, then walk down the stairs or fall down the shaft to the vault area, depending on the floor variant. In Floor: Blue and the Presidential Vault, the player will drop down into the vault hallway where there are obstacles, in the rest of the variants, the player walks up or down a wedge type stair to go into the obstacle area.

Each vault has different obstacle courses, mainly consisting of lasers, which deal about 1/4 to 1/5 of the player's health. These must be passed to reach the vault and exit the Bank. This can be done by jumping over most of the lasers, though moving lasers require dodging. After succeeding in dodging the lasers, players will have to approach the vault and touch it with their avatar, then dynamite will be placed automatically; players should not stand too close to the vault as the blast can push players back into the lasers.

Robbing

Once the vault is open, simply step inside and money will automatically enter the bag, Cash Icon50 every half second. In the Presidential Vault, it isn't as easy as standing still in the vault, as there are lasers inside the vault; players can avoid those by moving side-to-side.

Escaping

There are three ways to escape in all variations:

The first way is to escape through the main entrance. This can be risky, as players may have to avoid incoming Police officers walking through the door. It is the slowest way to exit, but it is considered to be the most used exit.

The second way to escape the Bank is by the side entrance.

The third way, added in the 1B Visits Update, consists of going through the metal explosive door that changes location depending on the Bank variant.

The player must first place dynamites on the metal door and wait ten seconds for it to explode. After that, they will encounter a laser obby that varies depending on the Bank floor that will need to be passed to escape this way. At the end, going up the ladder opens a hatch, which is located near the side entrance of the Bank.

As waiting for the door to be opened costs time, many players prefer to open it before they start robbing, as so the door is open while they are robbing, and they can use it for a quick escape after they are done collecting cash. However, the door only stays open for a minute after being blown, and will close after that period is up. It will have to be blown up again if closed.

It is recommended to use this escape if a keycard is not available or Police officers are camping at the gates, but doing it will cost some time. Be sure to stay far away from the door when using this method, as the explosion might push players into lasers.

Bank Bust

A Bank Bust happens when an un-bribed Police officer walks into the vault alive.

If a Police officer enters the vault, the chat will read "[user(s)] got busted in a Bank robbery." If any of the Criminals had a bounty, right below it will read "[username of the officer who busted the robbery] collected [username of the Criminal]’s [bounty amount] bounty!". If none of the Criminals had a bounty, the Police Officer gets the normal arrest cash amount (Cash Icon400, Cash Icon480 for VIP users). Criminals who robbed the Bank but escaped before a Police officer busted the robbery will not be arrested.

The difficulty of busting a Bank robbery depends on the Bank floor. It not only depends on how difficult the way to the vault is but also how vulnerable officers are to gunfire. This makes the Presidential Vault and Deductions floor harder than any other Bank floor to bust, due to one being very difficult (if a Criminal is waiting for the player at the moving laser wall), and the other is a long path with moving lasers with good visibility for Criminals to shoot the player.

Make sure to walk into the vault once the door is completely open, as walking into it while the vault door is opening will not result in a Bank bust. If this happens, simply walk out and back in.

Tips and Tricks

Before Entering

  • Players are recommended not to rob the Bank alone unless there is little to no Police on the server. Try to bring a group of Criminals.
  • Players should have weapons before entering the Bank.
  • Placing C4 around areas where cops are likely to go through helps because when detonated they can fling and kill the cop.

During Robbing/Busting the Bank

  • If you or one of your friends has a rocket launcher equipped, have them fire on the entry to further hinder any cops from getting through.
  • Do not try to open the metal explosive door before robbing, due to it providing a slow and difficult escape from a Bank robbery. Furthermore, the explosive door will close after 1 minute and it will have to be blown up again, making it more time-consuming. This escape can be used if the player does not have a keycard.
  • Try throwing grenades and launching rockets at Police who are in the stairway. Alternatively, place C4 on the Bank entrance like a mine and detonate it when cops enter the Bank, to buy the Criminals more time to take out the cop.
  • While waiting for the vault to open, the player should position themselves where they can easily defend the entrance against the Police while staying far away.
  • If a Criminal with robbery money leaves the Bank, gets arrested, or dies, a one-minute timer will activate. This gives all the other robbers one minute to exit the Bank successfully or get kicked out if they fail to make it in time.
  • Don't use large Rthro packages when robbing the Bank.
  • A Smoke Grenade can be useful, as it blurs the Criminals' vision allowing the player to walk into the vault more easily. However, the player should be careful where they are jumping.
  • Bring a Forcefield Launcher when busting Bank robberies, as the forcefields not only protect the player from gunfire but also regenerate health. The player can still be damaged by the plasma pistol, rockets, grenades, or by enemies shooting at any exposed parts of the players body.

Vehicle and Item Spawn Points

The Falcon S can be found in front of the Crater City Bank. Added during Day 5 of the 2023 5 Days of Vehicles Event, this superbike offers exceptional speed for its price.

The Badger can be found near the side exit of the Crater City Bank. Added during Season 8: Looking to the Future in February 2022, the vehicle's performance is close if not related to the Jeep.

The Jet Ski can be found behind the Crater City Bank. The spawn was added to serve as a quick water getaway, as Police officers cannot easily catch Criminals in the water.

The Jetpack can be found on top of the Crater City Bank building. Added back in 2019, its spawn point has been moved across the map over the last few years. Now resting on the roof, it is recommended to use the item to fly away.
