The Museum is the fifth heist to be added in Jailbreak. It was added to Jailbreak on June 26, 2018, and received a revamp on January 7, 2022.

The Museum is a stationary heist where players must enter with at least two players activating dynamite to explode a hole in the roof. From there, criminals steal artifacts and deliver them to the Volcano Criminal Base to obtain cash.

Overview

The Museum is a two-story brick building located on the top of a hill, next to the Radio Tower. It has grey tiles flooring with red carpet at places.

The Museum houses a wide variety of artifacts, from dinosaur bones, decorative planets, Egyptian artifacts, to art pieces, all of which can be robbed.

The Museum has two vehicle spawn points: the Boxer on the left of the building, and the Badger on the right of the parking lot. If the player's vehicle disappears or is taken away, both of these vehicles provide another method of escaping.

In the Fall 2023 Update, the Museum now opens alongside the Rising City Bank and the Jewelry Store with the new robbery open system.

Robbing the Museum

Criminals can rob the Museum by climbing the ladder on either side and placing dynamite on the detonation wires in the roof, which requires two players. Criminals have a chance to ragdoll when they fall through the hole, easily triggering the alarms and security; the developers have added support beams to the roof to reduce the chance of this happening.

Each kilogram of items is worth Cash Icon700 (Cash Icon840 with the VIP Gamepass). There is a total of 65 kg of robbable items in the Museum, enough to fill thirteen regular duffel bags, or six Big Duffel bags with 5 kg extra. In total, this makes Cash Icon49,000 of robbable items (Cash Icon58,800 with the VIP Gamepass). Players without the Bigger Duffel Bag Gamepass have a 5 kg maximum carrying weight; this is increased to 10 kg with the gamepass.

Any stolen item will add kilograms to the player's bag, preventing them from using any item until they have reached the Collector at the Volcano Criminal Base, leaving them defenseless if a police officer approaches. In a later update, players can drop the bag [1] by clicking Backspace or clicking on the red circle on the bag's GUI, allowing them to use weapons and items. A player's museum bag cannot be stolen by other players, including the police, but it will despawn if left unattended for too long.[2]

If a player is driven to the Collector by another player, the driver receives 10% of the value of what the player has stolen, creating the notification [Server] (username) received (10% of the value of other player's obtained cash) for assisting a museum robbery. The player will not have their robbery cash reduced if this happens.

From the roof, criminals involved in the robbery will fall into the Museum, landing on the left-hand balcony/staircase. At this point, most participants will split up into different areas, where stores different kinds of artifacts:

Floors

Central Room

The central room is where players drop off after entering through the ceiling hole. The room contains the largest amounts of items that can be robbed. Players must be careful, as the room consists of many moving spotlights covering the floor, which can deal health damage.

If players are low on health, they are recommended to rest on the dinosaur platform, which is on a red circular carpet in the middle of the room, since most spotlights do not go through it.

The central room also has a double door, placed at the center front of the building. It can be used as an exit if the security system is deactivated.

On rare occasions, the bones can glitch and push the player through the floor and off the map, killing them. This is extremely rare and only happens if the player is playing on a laggy device.

Left Ground Floor Room

Inside the left ground floor room, a classic "Pipe Puzzle" can be seen, along with an Egyptian Pharaoh mask. It can be solved by interacting with the the connectors and rotating them to get them from corner to corner; if accomplished, a brick door will open that leads to the left lever room and reveals a mummy's corpse placed inside of a glass container, along with an exit. A lever is also seen here, essential to disable the alarm/security system.

If the Egyptian Pharaoh mask is stolen, the alarm will be set off and the police will be alerted if they have not already been alerted.

Left Lever Room

The left lever room resembles a small security office, featuring a robbable mummy corpse, a lever used to deactivate the security system, and a door that can be used to exit after disabling the security system.

If the lever in this room and the lever in the right lever room are pulled, the security system is deactivated, which means the lights will turn white again (if the alarm was not set off before), move slower, and cannot be reactivated - though they will still damage players. Players can then exit through the door in this room.

Right Ground Floor Room

Inside the right ground floor room, a large blue jewel can be seen, along with a simple laser puzzle. To complete the puzzle, simply interact with the lasers until all five of them align. It is essential to complete it as after that, a brick door will slide open, revealing the right lever room.

Similar to the Egyptian Pharaoh mask, if the jewel is stolen, the alarm will be set off, and the police will be alerted if they have not already been.

Right Lever Room

The right lever room resembles a small security office, similar to the left lever room. It features a lever used to deactivate the security system and a door that can be used to exit after disabling the security system.

If the lever in this room and the lever in the left lever room are pulled, the security system is deactivated, which means the lights will turn white again (if the alarm was not set off before), move slower, and cannot be reactivated - though they will still damage players. Players can then exit through the door in this room.

Showcase Room

The showcase room is located above the left ground floor room and the left lever room. In this room, several artifcats can be seen, which are references to parts of Jailbreak's history. Players must shoot out the middle glass panel with a gun to break into the showcase and rob the artifacts; note that rocket launchers and grenades cannot blow up the glass panel. If the player does not have a gun, they will not be able to rob this room.

The showcase room also consists of two spotlights which can be tricky to pass. Players can jump on the hanging light as an easier way to pass them.

As of March 8th, 2020, the Revolver could be found here inside a glass case to the opposite side of the showcase. The Revolver's spawn in the Museum was removed in the November 2020 Update.

Art Gallery

The art gallery houses several unique pieces of art, all of which are spin-offs of real-life paintings, only with Roblox characters blended into them.

The art gallery, similar to the showcase room, has two spotlights that are tricky to pass, which can be avoided by standing between them. It is recommended, however, to disarm the alarm system before entering the room.

Escaping

To successfully escape the Museum, one person each must be in each of the lever rooms. Both levers in these rooms must be pulled either at the same time or within three seconds of each other to disable the security.

When security is disabled, all twelve cameras will turn white and slow down. Cameras still do damage, but less than when the security is not disabled. Criminals are now free to escape through the side or main doors. They can also escape from the hole on the roof, where they dropped down, if someone drops a rope for them.

Be cautious, as most of the time, police tend to wait for criminals outside the Museum. It is recommended to grab a helicopter rope to escape if there is one, as police rarely camp at the roof.

Alarms

When alarms are triggered, the spotlights will turn red and move faster, while the police will be notified. Alarms can be triggered due to the following factors:

  • A player steps on the spotlights.
  • A player steals the jewel or the Egyptian Pharaoh mask.
  • Failure to disable security. (one lever is pulled, but the other is not)

The police will not be notified twice for fulfilling multiple conditions or the same condition twice.

Tips and Tricks

  • Always be careful when robbing the Museum. Touching a security camera activates higher security, and not only do they do more damage and move a lot faster, but they also notify the police that the Museum is being robbed.
  • It is best to shoot down the planets and break the display case before robbing, if many players are robbing the Museum.
  • If the player is about to die in the Museum, wait on the T-Rex pedestal and heal up. Security cameras cannot reach it.
    • If one owns the Forcefield Launcher but is holding a museum bag, drop the bag and launch the forcefield. Immediately pick up the bag afterwards to prevent anyone else from taking it. The forcefield will not disappear even after you pick up the bag, as long as it is within 15 seconds.
  • If the player is left alone in the Museum before they could disable the security system, ask another criminal to come to the Museum quickly.
  • If the player has the museum bag equipped, they cannot ragdoll, giving an advantage to the robbers. They will still take fall damage.
    • Players can jump off the Museum roof and most likely get away due to the police behind ragdolling, giving them more time to escape.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with others when pulling the lever. When the player has entered one of the lever rooms, signal it to another partner so that they can instantly pull the lever as they get in the other room.
    • Conversely, listen other players' signals in the Museum.
    • Do not pull the lever unless the player makes sure that there is somebody in the other room. The minimap can be used to locate other criminals.
  • When escaping, use the minimap to check whether or not there are police outside. It is best to examine which exit is much safer.
    • Other players can be also used as bait, and the player can escape while the police are distracted.
    • Do not stand too near to the door if there is a police camping nearby, as it is possible for the player to get arrested through the door.
    • If a police is right outside the door, the player can drop their bag in order to use weapons. Once they have a weapon of their choice equipped, they can open the door and, after backing away from the door to avoid arrest, fend off the police by shooting at them.
  • The Boxer is a convenient vehicle that will provide a getaway in tougher situations. It spawns at the left of the building.
    • If the player does not have the vehicle, park a getaway vehicle in front of the door to escape police the moment they exit the Museum. It is recommended that the vehicle is fast.
  • Be careful when driving up to the collectors inside the Volcano Criminal Base, since police tend to camp inside.
    • To avoid getting arrested, check the minimap to locate the police, then get inside through the ramp entrance or the Evil Lair, as the police will not be expecting this. Quickly pop out by the Collector to collect the money, then quickly go back down to avoid being arrested.
    • Alternatively, the player can drop their bag or collect their money and fight off the police by shooting them from an area they would not expect to secure the base for any teammates arriving soon.

Trivia

  • Many of the robbable items in the Museum are references or parodies of real-life artifacts.
    • On top of one of the planets (Pluto), a decal of Pluto the Dog is present.
    • The paintings in the Museum are based on real-life paintings. There is The Starry Night by Van Gogh (with a Black Hawk), The Scream by Edvard Munch (but with WoodReviewer), a painting with a ROBLOX crash report blocking most of it, and two portraits of asimo3089 and badcc, parodying the "first-ever meme".
    • The objects in the showcase room are references to Jailbreak. The cone is a nod back to Defaultio for including the Jailbreak train in his game, CONE, the gold bars represent the Bank vault, the spinner rims represent the first-ever limited rims, and the giant donut represents the Donut Shop.
  • When the Museum was first released, some players could not receive their money from the collector. This was fixed in a later update.
  • This was the first location to play music during a robbery.
  • With a full robbery and seven assist profits from other players, one could obtain up to Cash Icon13,840 from a Museum heist. To accomplish this, one would need the Black Hawk (for seven passengers), Bigger Duffel Bag Gamepass, and VIP Gamepass.
  • There is a Roblox playset of this robbery: Jailbreak: Museum Heist.
  • On a private server, you could jump out of the hole in the roof with lower gravity.
    • However, this is no longer possible as the gravity command has been removed.
  • By spawning a car on the roof of museum, preferably Pickup, and driving it into the gap formed on the roof, players could get out quickly by using the vehicle as a bridge up to the roof, quickly ending the robbery.
    • As of the 2023 Fall Update, and many numerous further updates, this bug has been patched.
  • After 2023 Fall Update, the Museum has been classified to Robbery Group A, opening alongside Rising City Bank and the Jewelry Store.
