For the bank in Crater City, see Crater City Bank. For the mobile heist located in the Bank, see Bank Truck.

The Rising City Bank was the first robbery to be added to Jailbreak on April 21, 2017.

Overview

Players must walk across a series of parkour to reach the vault, and Criminals must also prevent Police from reaching the vault, since if they do, it will result in a Bank bust. There are a total of eight possible floors that may appear below the Bank.

The heist has gone through multiple redesigns, new vehicle spawns, and a mobile heist parked inside the Bank, which is the Bank Truck.

In the Fall 2023 Update, the Rising City Bank now opens alongside the Jewelry Store and the Museum with the new robbery system.

Bank Floors

The Rising City Bank has a variety of floors depending on which floor; each floor has a unique way of robbing and the amount of cash you could earn. The Bank floors used to follow a sequential order which was: Upper Management > Basement > Corridor > Classic: Remastered > Financing: Underwater > Blue Floor > The Mint > Deductions > Presidential Vault. In the Fall 2023 Update, the Basement, Blue Floor, Deductions and the Presidential Vault floors were moved to the Crater City Bank. Also in this update, the Bank floor order was randomized.

Overview

The Upper Management is the newest floor added in the May 2022 Update. The floor experience is different compared to other floors. Noticeable, this floor goes up, while the other Bank variants go down.

To complete this floor, you need to avoid the lasers on the stairs. Then, you will have to complete an easy parkour and touch the vault to add the explosives, you get the same amount of money as in other floors like Blue Floor or Financing: Underwater.

After collecting all the money, repeat the parkour and then you can either escape through the entrance or face the newest exit behind the metal door.

Behind the metal doors features the newest exit added within the Bank revamp itself. To come across it, go up the ladder to where you can see an option to open shaders. The shaders will then open up to show E prompts near the glass. Proceed to break the glass to where you can jump out and officially collect your cash!

Overview

The Corridor floor is the third most recent Bank vault added to Jailbreak. It is added in the February 2020 Update. It is a medium-hard vault to rob, consisting of three sets of easy-to-avoid lasers, which can sometimes be ignored by walking through the room on the left (facing the vault).

Between the two pathways, there is a hole in the middle, with moving lasers that can remove 1/5 of a player's health when touched. The only way to create a full path is by exploding the exit door, as the platform beneath the lasers will rise and create a path. Alternatively, players can also use the Jetpack or Glider to boost over the hole instead. There is no way to get back up after falling into the lasers, however, unless the exploding door explodes. This gap is wide, very wide, sometimes even players jump and sprinting at the last moment. They do occasionally fall into the gap. There is no gap for the players to wait for the vault to open, so they have to stand in front of the vault without getting hit by the vault door.

The metal explosive door is considered as a harder version of the main obby (1 set of easy-to-avoid), like the other safety rooms on the left, which have no obstacles.

Overview

The Classic: Remastered floor is based on the underground section of the Bank that used to exist from the Public BETA Release up to the Mega Robbery Update.

Follow the staircase down into the basement, players can find a small laser parkour course, in which they have to crouch and jump over a few lasers. The vault waits at the end of the mini lobby.

Looking out from the vault, the metallic door leading to the ladder escape is on the far wall. Behind the door is a corridor with two lasers to be jumped over, with the ladder at the end of the corridor.

Overview

The Financing: Underwater floor leads players down the stairs to a path leading to the ladder. The staircase leads to another staircase leading into a body of water. Follow the staircase down into the water to reach the vault.

There are several lasers on the surface and at the bottom of the water, which can be easily avoided if players do not jump when in the water. In front of the Vault is a laser moving vertically, blocking the vault, in which players need to time it right to dodge the laser. Criminals can then begin placing dynamite on the vault.

Looking out from the vault, players can see a small metallic door on the left wall. Explode it and follow the path. Jump over a few lasers and duck under the laser wall at the end of it, where they would reach the ladder and the path leading out of the Bank.

The player can alternatively swim left instead of right to the far wall. If the player ducked and gone under this wall, a secret room is found with a decal of the Jailbreak logo above a small pad and a sign saying "Shhhh, this place is a secret! Great job finding it!" in front of it. If the exploding door closes while a player is inside the room, the entrance will slide back and the player will be trapped inside unless someone else explodes the door or the timer runs out. These Easter eggs are only for decorative purposes.

Overview

The Mint floor was added in the Mint Update. Past the sliding doors that need a keycard, the path will be similar to the Classic: Remastered vault, with brick walls, colored "Mint Green". Turn left and there is a hallway with a laser to jump over, and one to crawl under. On the left, there is an invisible wall, with a series of money processing conveyor belts and dark doorways behind it, and on the right, there is a wide, open room with checker-layout lasers on the ground. At the end of the hallway, there will be a large laser obby that players must jump over and navigate through to reach the vault.

Inside the vault, if the player walks up to the second bag of money from the left and crawls, they can crawl into it, revealing a hidden tunnel. This tunnel is extremely large and has the brick walls outside the vault. If you stand up/stop crawling, the screen will glitch and you will have to crawl again to move, similarly to the old vent escape in the prison. After a few turns, the player will end up entering the money conveyor room they passed earlier, having entered from one of the doors. Like the "Financing: Underwater" variant's hidden room, this room has no purpose; the room does not prevent you from getting arrested and the cash on the conveyor belts is noncollectable.

Robbing the Bank

Items

Several items may be brought to increase the chances of successfully robbing the building:

  • Keycard: Required to access the Bank. Players can still access the Bank if another player lets them inside.
  • Weapons: Recommended at all times, used to kill Police that attempt to arrest players in the Bank.
  • Donut/Forcefield Launcher: Used to heal health if players are in low health.
  • Glider: Useful to skip the laser ditch in the Corridor floor.
  • C4: Put one near the entrance and detonate it. Players can also place them near lasers so Police officers will be thrown in the air and die.
  • Dogs: Attacks the Police when a Criminal damages a cop. It is immune to lasers and can run fast to attack Police. A Bulldog is recommended because it can do more damage to Police.

Entering

After obtaining a Keycard, players can open the metal door leading to the stairs or use the side door on the left side, then walk down the stairs or fall down the shaft to the vault area, depending on the floor variant. In Corridor, the player will drop down into the vault hallway where there are obstacles, in the rest of the variants, the player walks up or down a wedge type stair to go into the obstacle area.

Each vault has different obstacle courses, mainly consisting of lasers, which deal about 1/4 to 1/5 of the player's health. These must be passed to reach the vault and exit the Bank. This can be done by jumping over most of the lasers, though moving lasers require dodging. After succeeding in dodging the lasers, players will have to approach the vault and touch it with their avatar, then dynamite will be placed automatically; players should not stand too close to the vault as the blast can push players back into the lasers.

Robbing

Once the vault is open, simply step inside and money will automatically enter the bag, Cash Icon50 every half second.

Escaping

There are three ways to escape in all variations:

The first way is to escape through the main entrance. This can be risky, as players may have to avoid incoming Police officers walking through the door. It is the slowest way to exit, but it is considered to be the most used exit.

The second way to escape the Bank is by the 2 side entrances. The easiest exit can be located at the old front of the Bank, while the hardest is to the door near the Bank hatch.

The third way, added in the 1B Visits Update, consists of going through the metal explosive door that changes location depending on the Bank variant.

The player must first place dynamites on the metal door and wait ten seconds for it to explode. After that, they will encounter a laser obby that varies depending on the Bank floor that will need to be passed to escape this way. At the end, going up the ladder opens a hatch, which is located near the side entrance of the Bank.

As waiting for the door to be opened costs time, many players prefer to open it before they start robbing, as so the door is open while they are robbing, and they can use it for a quick escape after they are done collecting cash. However, the door only stays open for a minute after being blown, and will close after that period is up. It will have to be blown up again if closed.

It is recommended to use this escape if a keycard is not available or Police officers are camping at the gates, but doing it will cost some time. Be sure to stay far away from the door when using this method, as the explosion might push players into lasers.

Bank Bust

A Bank Bust happens when an un-bribed Police officer walks into the vault alive.

If a Police officer enters the vault, the chat will read "[user(s)] got busted in a Bank robbery." If any of the Criminals had a bounty, right below it will read "[username of the officer who busted the robbery] collected [username of the Criminal]’s [bounty amount] bounty!". If none of the Criminals had a bounty, the Police Officer gets the normal arrest cash amount (Cash Icon400, Cash Icon480 for VIP users). Criminals who robbed the Bank but escaped before a Police officer busted the robbery will not be arrested.

The difficulty of busting a Bank robbery depends on the Bank floor. It not only depends on how difficult the way to the vault is but also how vulnerable officers are to gunfire. Make sure to walk into the vault once the door is completely open, as walking into it while the vault door is opening will not result in a Bank bust. If this happens, simply walk out and back in.

Tips and Tricks

Before Entering

  • Players are recommended not to rob the Bank alone unless there are little to no Police on the server. Try to bring a group of Criminals. It is also not recommended to rob the Financing: Underwater layout with experienced Police in the server, as they can easily dash though the water using a Glider or Riot Shield.
  • Players should have weapons before entering the Bank.
  • Placing C4 around areas where cops are likely to go through helps because when detonated they can fling and kill the cop.

During the process of Robbing/Busting the Bank

  • If you get Corridor as your robbery layout, keep sustained fire on the entry section at all times. This will almost always prevent any cops from reaching the vault. If you or one of your friends has a rocket launcher equipped, have them fire on the entry to further hinder any cops from getting through.
  • Do not try to open the metal explosive door before robbing, due to it providing a slow and difficult escape from a Bank robbery. Furthermore, the explosive door will close after 1 minute and it will have to be blown up again, making it more time-consuming. This escape can be used if the player does not have a keycard.
  • Try throwing grenades and launching rockets at Police who are in the stairway. Alternatively, place C4 on the Bank entrance like a mine and detonate it when cops enter the Bank, to buy the Criminals more time to take out the cop.
  • While waiting for the vault to open, the player should position themselves where they can easily defend the entrance against the Police while staying far away.
  • If you are on the Financing: Underwater layout, do not under any circumstances open the explosive metal door. This will allow police officers to easily bypass the underwater portion of the layout, which will lead to you getting busted.
  • If a Criminal with robbery money leaves the Bank, gets arrested, or dies, a one-minute timer will activate. This gives all the other robbers one minute to exit the Bank successfully or get kicked out if they fail to make it in time.
  • Don't use large Rthro packages when robbing the Bank.
  • Use a Glider to bust Bank robberies easier due to the Glider's large speed boost.
  • A Smoke Grenade can be useful, as it blurs the Criminals' vision allowing the player to walk into the vault more easily. However, the player should be careful where they are jumping.
  • Bring a Forcefield Launcher when busting Bank robberies, as the forcefields not only protect the player from gunfire but also regenerate health. The player can still be damaged by the plasma pistol, rockets, grenades, or by enemies shooting at any exposed parts of the players body.
  • Once the player sees the "Police have entered the Bank" notification if they are in the Financing: Underwater room, they should swim into an area where they can see the Police entering and prepare to fire at them. If the metal explosive door is open, the player can also fire at the Police from there.
  • Don’t try to crawl under the lasers as it is still possible to take damage.
  • When robbing the Corridor layout, it is highly recommended to detonate the laser ditch, allowing a platform to cross successfully. Most avatars cannot leap past the ditch and that once inside the ditch, it is nearly impossible to leave without assistance. However, it is survivable with timed jumps. Alternatively, you can use the glider or a Flintlock to cross.
  • Use the taser. This stuns Criminals for 3 seconds, giving an opportunity to bust the Bank robbery.
  • Buy the La Matador or Little Bird as getaway vehicles from the Bank.

Vehicle Spawn Points

Little Bird

The Little Bird spawns on the helipad on top of the Bank. It was released in the Cargo Ship Update of June 2020. This is a recommended vehicle to use when getting away, as Police officers cannot easily catch Criminals in the air.

La Matador

The La Matador spawns close to the Bank and is a cheaper alternative to the Little Bird. It is recommended to use this if the player does not own the Little Bird, and is closer to the Lamborghini, otherwise, the Little Bird is a better getaway vehicle.

Bank Truck

The Bank Truck is a mobile heist in Jailbreak. It was added in the Winter 2020 Update. It spawns inside a garage slot near the Bank's entrance.

Trivia

  • When the Bank is closed, Criminals will always spawn on the right side of the Bank next to the side door, and Police will always spawn on the left next to the main door.
  • Until February 28th, 2018, it was possible to glitch into the Bank without a keycard.
    • This glitch likely existed because of an attempt to fix the Penguin/Snow Gentleman glitch.
    • There is another way to glitch inside the Bank: simply park a helicopter's reel over the metal trapdoor, go into the passenger seat and extend the rope. Explode the exploding door from the inside and go to the main door to start the robbery. This may not work every time.
  • In a minor Update, a low fence in front of the double doors was added to prevent wide vehicles from entering. However, players could still fit a Dirtbike, Volt, Patrol, or an ATV through the gap. Some larger vehicles can also use Rocket Fuel to ramp over the fence. Premium Garage does not work inside the Bank.
    • Later on, a small invisible wall was added to further prevent vehicles from going inside the vault. The wall does not prevent bullets or rockets from entering the vault.
      • As of the Balance Update, vehicles cannot be driven inside the Bank without the driver being ejected out.
  • Lasers were colored orange during fall ,light blue during winter, and purple during the alien event. When not colored they were red.
    • Since the implementation of different Bank floors, lasers can now have different colors, depending on which floor appears.
  • When Jailbreak first came out, the Bank had a glitch where the robbery would not start when players entered the Bank. The glitch was fixed quickly.
  • Presumably added during the Sewer Escape Update, a small orange face called Scoobis was put on the "B" on the letters spelling "Bank".
  • Before the Sewer Escape Update, there used to be a glitch where players could enter the Bank through the trapdoor, which was later patched. The procedures of this glitch are as follows:
    1. To enter, crawl on it, then jump while spamming the punch button.
    2. If done correctly, the trapdoor would open, leading to the room normally accessible by using the metal door.
    3. Go to the explosive door, where the prompt to place dynamite should appear. Place the dynamite.
    4. After the metal door explodes and opens, go upstairs to the metal door, start the robbery, and rob it as usual. Use the explosive door exit.
  • When Jailbreak first came out, there were two big signs of the word "Bank", one on the front and one on the side.
    • Possibly between the Dirtbike Update and Dune Buggy Update, the side one was removed.
      • After the 2B Visits Update, the sign that said "Bank" was now above the main door. Another sign that said "Bank" was added to the backside of the Bank.
        • After the Weapons/Items Update, the sign was changed to a decal rather than being solid.
  • Before the 2017 Winter Update, the metal door which can be blown up was not visible or operable. This was quickly fixed. Before the 1B Visits Update, the metal door which can be blown using dynamite was not operable. This too was quickly fixed.
  • During the 2017 Winter Update, the floor under the lasers was only ice and water. This was changed in the Rocket Fuel Update to a patterned floor and water.
    • During the 2017 Winter Update, there was a glitch that players could have collected cash in the water that was near the vault. This was later patched to prevent exploitation.
  • The Bank wall was changed in a miscellaneous Update to metal to prevent bullets from ricocheting.
  • The Bank lasers (Classic: Remastered) were refreshed in a miscellaneous Update shortly after the Weapons/Items Update, adding a laser and spread out the lasers.
  • Even after the Metal Explosive Door has exploded, there is still a broken 'E' circle that allows the dynamite to be detonated again. It is unknown if this is intentional or not.
  • The dynamite textures were changed on the Fall Update of 2018.
  • During the volcano eruption, only the top of the Bank sank (the old Basement floor and door remained during it). This was made to prevent players that were currently robbing the Bank to glitch out. This also prevented players from entering the Bank while the “extra floors” were sinking.
  • In the Mega Robbery Update, the Bank had received a huge revamp. There is now music when it is robbed, and the 4 new floors were added in this Update. The song (Death Chase A by Christopher W Tyler Nickel) will also start to play.
  • As of March 17, 2019, there is now another floor similar to the Presidential Vault called "The Mint", which is easier to rob than the former and gives the same amount of money.
    • This was changed in the Fall 2020 Update, and the Mint floor doesn't reward as much cash as before.
      • As of September 1, 2019, another Bank floor was added to the game, similar to the Presidential Vault and Mint, called Floor: Blue, which is arguably even easier and gives the same amount of money as well.
        • This too was changed in the Fall 2020 Update.
  • It is possible to walk across the entire corridor in Floor: Blue without dying, in addition to successfully robbing it.
  • The Rising City Bank is the only building that spawns 2 Easter eggs, the Financing: Underwater variant's hidden room and The Mint's hidden tunnel, though they cannot both spawn at once.
  • In an update, the Presidential Vault became a little easier to complete, due to complaints.
  • As a joke, asimo3089 colored the Mint's walls "Mint Green".
  • After September 1, 2019, when Floor: Blue was released, each floor now gave Cash Icon1,000 more except for the Presidential Vault, which gave Cash Icon2,000 more.
  • Previously, the Bank used to only give Cash Icon33 at a time. That was changed later, giving Cash Icon50 at a time.
  • Since the Sniper Update, the Sniper spawned in the Bank, behind the main door.
    • As of the November 2020 Update, it is exclusively obtained in the Gun Shops and therefore has been removed from the Bank.
  • In the Gun Skins Update, various Bank sections had minor changes, including more lasers or basic layout changes.
  • Before the Gun Skin Update, the Corridor gives the same amount as the "Classic: Remastered" floor.
    • This was later changed.
  • The Rising City Bank signs capitalization was changed from Bank into Bank.
  • In the Nukes Update, the Jetpack was made unusable in the Rising City Bank.
    • In the Cargo Ship Update, players are now able to use the Jetpack in the Rising City Bank.
    • However, the ability to use the Jetpack in the Bank was again removed in the Balance Update.
    • Some time afterwards, players are now able to use the Jetpack in the Bank again.
  • In Financing: Underwater there is a ladder near the left at the bottom of the ramp near the entrance. This can serve as an alternative escape for players without keycards.
  • If the player attempts to use the Forcefield Launcher near or inside the vault, it will malfunction, either deploying the forcefield in mid-air or in a location that the player did not aim at. To solve this, simply aim the Forcefield outside the vault.
  • Similar to the 2B Visits Live Event, the tornado in the 3-year Live Event only destroyed the top floors, with the bottom floor and the old Basement floor remaining the same.
  • This is the first robbery heist location to be revamped, second being Jewelry Store & third being Power Plant.
  • Before the invisible exterior barrier was added, the Volt, Patrol, and Dirtbike could enter the Bank by any door.
  • After the 2020 Winter Update, duffel bags now appear on Bank robbers' backs.
  • If the player has Roblox configured in another language, for example, Spanish, the Bank will have a small difference: the decal sign says Banc instead of "Bank" (in Spanish, "Bank" means Banco). This is because Jailbreak uses Roblox's translation feature, which generally has a lot of translation errors.
  • Arrested Criminals used to stay inside the Rising City Bank when the robbery got busted.
    • However, in a Miscellaneous Update in January 2019, arrested Criminals are now teleported out of the Bank when the robbery is busted.
    • It is possible to stay in the vault after getting busted. This is rare however.
  • Originally, the Rising City Bank used to give an Cash Icon$800 bounty (Cash Icon$80 on a private server) after robbing it.
    • In the Mega Robbery Update, the bounty was nerfed to Cash Icon$300 (Cash Icon$30 on a private server)
      • Currently, it gives a bounty of Cash Icon$500 every time a player robs it.
  • In the Dogs Update, a new contract was added to bust the Bank.
  • When players walk up the ladder to the Little Bird and jump down before they reach the angled ladder section, they will not be prompted to deploy a parachute, will not take fall damage, and not ragdoll, even if the height where the player jumps from would usually do this.
  • During the 5th anniversary live event, the top of the Rising City Bank was destroyed by a meteor.
    • After the event, the top of the Rising City Bank was still mostly destroyed.
    • But on Fast Travel Jets update, it got rebuilt with a new bank floor.
  • In the May 2022 Update, in order to accommodate the Bank’s expansion, one of the buildings in front of the Rising City Bank was removed.
  • If the Police enters the vault when nobody is around and the criminal has not escaped, they will be busted and arrested.
  • You can break some of the windows on the Rising City Bank near the roof, but only some it is unknown if this is intentional.
  • When the Rising City Bank reopens and the vault changes, the sound of the shutter doors used for the Upper Management vault opening/closing is heard, this is an easy way to tell when it opens.
  • After the 2023 Fall Update, the Rising City Bank has been classified as Robbery Group A, opening alongside the Jewelry Store and Museum.
