Fires were added in the Fire Update. Fires can appear anywhere on the map, even in water, caused by lightning, from a Rocket Launcher's rocket or using the "zap" command in private servers. A single fire appears as a red and orange particle effect that shrinks and grows methodically, with translucent grey smoke particles wafting into the air from the center of the fire. The maximum height a fire can reach is about the same height as the roof of the Mountainside Town Gun Shop.
Overview
Fires will last for a 1 minute; the fire will dissipate once 1 minute has passed. If a player walks near a fire, it will deplete the player's health by 5 HP a second. If a player stands still in an area with a single fire, it will take 20 seconds before the player will burn to death. The damage from fires is stacked, meaning that if a player were to stand in an area with two fires, their health would be depleted by 10 HP a second. Therefore with 20 fires, it is theoretically possible to instantly kill a player upon impact.
Fires can be extinguished by the water cannon mounted on the Firetruck. As a reward, players receive 100 (
120 with VIP Gamepass) for extinguishing a fire.
Usage
Since Fires can originate from the blast of a Rocket Launcher or the explosion of the Tanker, it has been an option for those carrying it to set fires to whatever they wish. Fires can be useful tools to block paths to certain areas, and can even be used to manipulate where a player goes to. For instance, criminals can use the Rocket Launcher's fires to prevent police from entering certain areas, such as the metal doors or elevator shaft in some Bank floors. Lastly, they have been common tools for trolling, especially in Bank vaults, where players standing in it will have their health depleted.
Police can also use a fire to their own advantage, such as burning the entrance of the Sewers or the exploding wall escape to prevent Prisoners from escaping. Against Criminals, they can also burn parts of a vehicle, a doorway, or a road, and they can use the fire to conceal the presence of a Road Spike or an ambush.
However, be mindful that rockets are not free, and can get expensive when overused. In addition, players cannot refill rockets on the go, so players are forced to buy more ammunition at either Gun Shops or the Military Base War Room.
Speculation
Firetrucks and fires have been long-speculated from 2017 up to their release. Many thought that these were going to be introduced on November 8, 2018, in the event of the 2B Visits Update, but it has been proven false and was instead released on March 2, 2019.

Trivia
- This feature has been speculated in the game for a long time, ever since the Fire Station was added in the Official Release.
- Players are able to start a fire in the lake, and fires still burn during the rain.
- There can only be a maximum of 100 fires at a time on all public and private servers.
- This feature was announced on Badimo's Twitter page on February 27, 2019.
- Fires can be found in the sky (if lightning or a rocket successfully hits something in the air) and in water. This is due to the fire's location being purely based on the impact point of rockets or lightning with no other deciding factor.
- Originally, there was no reward for extinguishing a fire, but as of the Season 2 update, players now receive
100 (
120 with VIP Gamepass) if they extinguish a fire.
- Fires were technically in Jailbreak before the fire update through the campfire located with the camping cops Easter Egg. That fire now uses the current fire model.
- Fires would've stayed on top of the forcefield in the old Military Base, even if it was disabled, though this isn't possible now as the forcefield no longer exists.
- On very rare occasions, due to how the collision works, the lightning may even strike the air without an object nearby, resulting in a fire appearing.
- Fires can be stacked on top of each other.
- For some reason, the fire spawning system is broken, as fires can spawn anywhere except on moving entities like the 2 trains and the Cargo Plane and Stealth Jets.
- Fires can damage players sitting inside a vehicle.
