Why can I not buy this?

The content featured on this page is no longer obtainable in Jailbreak. It is now exclusive content that can only be obtained through trading, and it is unable to be purchased by non-owners.
Became unobtainable on: November 3, 2019.
Same face, different name.

The following Jailbreak vehicle or robbery has been renamed. This was likely done to avoid copyright, or follow Roblox community guidelines. This was because prior names took directly from real-life car brands or were simply not allowed on Roblox due to age restrictions.
Former in-game name: R8.

The JB8 (formerly known as R8) is a seasonal vehicle in Jailbreak. It was featured as the level 30 reward for the Criminal team in Season 3, alongside its Police counterpart, the Raptor.

Overview

Like many seasonal cars, the JB8 is rarely seen in-game due to its exclusivity.

When attempting to buy the JB8 from a player who owns it, players will be greeted with a notification, reading "Vehicle is from another season". Players couldn't buy the JB8, even if they had the cash necessary to purchase and the levels required.

The JB8 received a name change in a miscellaneous update, from "R8" to "JB8", along with a few other vehicles. This was most likely done to avoid possible future copyright claims.

Performance

The JB8 has above average top speed. The reverse speed is quite decent. The acceleration, handling, and brakes are all good as well. The JB8 isn't great when it comes to off-roading. In addition to its performance, it can hold three passengers, making this a great supercar for trios.

Overall, the JB8 proves to be a great car. However, it is outclassed by some cheaper and similar priced supercars in performance.

Easy to control at all speeds. It also has great drifting abilities. However, it does pale in comparison to other supercars, such as the Eclaire or the M12 Molten. Ground clearance is somewhat low. The JB8 loses speed when going up hills, and is a little unstable when driving over rough terrain.

It comes to a full stop in about 1 second from top speed, which is very quick. Comparable to the Eclaire and Beignet. The JB8 has 100 health, which places it firmly above many other hypercars. It ties with the Brulee, Beam Hybrid and Rattler, but loses to it's police counterpart, the Raptor.

Obtainability

Season 3 (Debut)

The JB8 made its debut alongside the Raptor in Season 3. It required Level 30 on the Criminal team to unlock, and costed $200,000. It spawned naturally in the Criminal Lair, where the Torpedo once spawned, staying there until the end of Season 3.

As a limited vehicle, the JB8 had specific requirements that players had to meet in order to obtain it, those being needing level 30 on the criminal team and $200.000 cash. Over the course of Event Season Updates, this vehicle's requirements and obtainability changed.

Season 4 (Unobtainable)

The JB8 was made unobtainable. If a player attempts to purchase it, they will receive the notification: "Vehicle is from another season." This also applies to the Torpedo, Arachnid, and Raptor.

Trivia

  • This vehicle is based on either the 2016 or the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus ; (Unfortunately it doesnt have a unique engine sound similar to the Venom.
    • The JB8's price, when researched upon, costs $197,150 for the R8 V10 Performance, making its price in Jailbreak almost accurate.
  • The Jailbreak version of the Audi R8 has three seats, although the real-life version has only two.
    • It was the first Vehicle added to the game to contain 3 seats.
    • The third seat is placed where the engine is in the real-life version.
    • The JB8 is tied with the Air Tail for having the second-highest seating capacity out of any supercar/hypercar, only behind the Icebreaker.
    • Players in the third seat aren't able to use items or weapons.
  • The JB8 was used to tease the new lighting update, which can be seen on asimo3089's tweet.
    • This car was also used to tease the "Radioactive Yellow" color, which is obtained by being a server and getting struck with a Nuke.
    • The JB8 was used to tease the Robowing spoiler as well, a reward that could've been obtained in Season 4.
  • The JB8 spawned in the Criminal Lair, where the Torpedo was once located.
  • The JB8 is the first and only Audi-branded vehicle in Jailbreak.
  • When buying the JB8, the UI says "Buy Audi R8 for $200,000?".
    • However, in the garage's GUI, it only reads out as "R8".
  • Players argue that it was a lot harder to obtain the JB8 than it was to obtain the Raptor, since more work was required to gain XP as a criminal, whereas cops can gain XP quicker from arrests.
  • When the JB8 reaches max speed, its engine goes silent.
  • The JB8 has a 5-gear transmission.
  • Around the start of Season 4, the JB8 still spawned in the Criminal Lair, however, it was taken off sale, making it impossible to buy despite it spawning.
  • The JB8 has a customizable secondary body-color. (the vents on the sides)
  • In a tweet by Badimo talking about Nukes, they stated "We have plans to bring back seasonal items in the future!" This made many think they meant the Torpedo, Arachnid, JB8, and Raptor, all seasonal cars. In a later tweet, they replied to a reply asking about these cars returning saying: "They will not. They're limited-time vehicles." Probably what Badimo meant was that they would bring back Seasons.
    • Eventually, Badimo did bring back Seasons, starting with Season 1: New Beginnings.
  • The JB8 received a name change in a miscellaneous update, and the R8 is now known as the JB8.
    • The "JB" in JB8 is short for Jailbreak.
    • Before the JB8 was renamed, it had the shortest name out of all the vehicles. Consisting of only 2 characters.
