The Manta is a safe-exclusive vehicle in Jailbreak. Modeled by Stealth_Llama,[1] it is only available in Tier 5/Legendary safes, which can be bought for 100,000.

Overview[]

The Manta is a hypercar with a custom design, not being based on any specific real-life automotive brand. According to Stealth_Llama, its design was inspired by fighter jets.[2] The vehicle has a smooth, aerodynamic design, sporting a fin and even a jet engine at the rear of the vehicle. The windshield opens on a hinge to allow entry into the cockpit, similar to how one would get into a fighter jet, and as such, there are no side doors.

Performance[]

The Manta has excellent performance for a safe-exclusive car, being able to surpass vehicles over twice the value of the safe you acquire it from. It only has 1 gear and high acceleration, allowing it to reach its top speed of 231 mph in a very short time. It does, however, only have standard turn speed of 1.4, so at top speed it can be hard to control. With its great launch and acceleration, it can easily climb most hills and steep terrain, making it great for getting out of a bad situation.

Due to its 2% chance to be awarded from Legendary safes, the Manta would cost around 5,000,000 (the cost of 50 Legendary safes) on average, though, due to pity, the average is much lower (as it cannot go above a certain threshold). As such, it is not advised to target this vehicle for its performance, as the average cost to performance ratio is very low in comparison to most other vehicles. In comparison to its predecessor, the Shell Classic, however, it easily beats the price to performance ratio. Regardless, if one is able to able to obtain this vehicle within only a few safes, they will certainly be getting their money's worth.

IMPORTANT: This car is affected a lot more than others by the "suspension bounce" glitch, which causes devices running on lower RAM, ping, or otherwise anything else that affects FPS to cause the player's cars to erratically bounce and jitter, occasionally stopping the car entirely or launching it in the air. This is a huge take-away from the vehicles otherwise decent performance. If you plan on getting this vehicle, check to make sure your device has good performance before doing so.

Trivia[]

  • This vehicle has a completely unique engine sound, with an audible hissing present as it is driven.
    • The hissing can be interpreted as the burning of jet fuel, due to the vehicle's heavy inspirations from fighter jets.
  • The Manta's forward hinged windshield appears to be inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II, a stealth fighter jet which also has a forward hinged canopy.

Miscellaneous Trivia[]

  • This is one of 3 cars to feature trailing taillights when the car is not accelerating, the others being the Shogun and the Aperture.
    • As the Aperture was also created by Stealth_Llama, they are the only creator to have created multiple vehicles with this feature.
  • This is the sixth vehicle added to Jailbreak that is exclusive to Safes, with the fifth being the Venom, fourth one being the Hammerhead, third being the Laviolette, second being the Fiasco, and the first being the now-unobtainable Shell Classic.
