Not to be confused with the La Matador, the vehicle purchasable with cash.

The OG La Matador is a limited vehicle released during the 2024 Live Event. As its name suggests, the vehicle is the pre-revamp La Matador.

The OG La Matador was given out to everyone for free when the total cash goal of 2,000,000,000 for the Save The Future event in OG Jailbreak was reached. Players who did not participate in the event were still eligible to obtain the vehicle by gaining cash after the counter hits two billion, even though the event had ended.

Overview[]

The OG La Matador is a nearly one-to-one replica of the pre-February 2020 La Matador (then known as the Lamborghini), featuring identical stats and the exact same vehicle model. It is not spawnable without the Pro Garage Gamepass, despite the fact that the vehicle it borrows the original model from costs 100,000, the cut-off point for that attribute.

Performance[]

The OG La Matador's performance is representative of how the La Matador was at its release in 2017, having a very high top speed that was designed to be very hard to reach, much like the Brulee and Torpedo.

Although it has a significantly higher top speed, the OG La Matador has a much slower acceleration than its present counterpart and takes a while to get ahead of it.

For a free vehicle, it performs very well and can compete with the current version and other vehicles such as the Shell Mark-5, but is not that practical due to its acceleration and especially its launch.

Overall, this vehicle is generally more of a novelty rather than for practical use, but is definitely a decent starter vehicle.

The OG La Matador has a top speed of 250 MPH, making it far faster than its present counterpart, although its poor acceleration makes it impossible to reach. It ties with some supercars like the Stallion. However, it is slightly behind the Crown. The reverse speed reaches 79 MPH, slightly faster than the Parisian, however, slightly slower than the Eclaire and Concept.

2.5s
The OG La Matador reaches 34 MPH within one second, the worst of any supercar and one of the most sluggish in game, even worse than the Camaro. Comparable to the Laviolette or Camper. The OG La Matador has the slowest acceleration of any supercar. It takes about 30 seconds to reach 200 MPH, and rarely gets close to its true top speed of 250 on the map, although going downhill makes it significantly faster.

1.5s
The OG La Matador has a handling similar to most other vehicles, with a turn speed of 1.4, the default value. When coupled with its sluggish launch, this car does not sport very impressive off-roading capabilities. It can barely go a few feet when driving up slopes and has weak ground clearance.

3.5s
Comes to a stop in about 3.5 seconds, which is slower than the Stallion and comparable to the Firetruck, making it worst in all of super/hypercars. The OG La Matador possesses 100 HP and a disable duration of 7.5 seconds, which is exactly the same as the modern La Matador.

Trivia[]

  • This vehicle, alongside the OG Monster Truck, marks the first time a vehicle has been "un-revamped" in any way, as all other revamped vehicles have never been reverted and no other "OG" variants have ever been released.
  • In the message shown to players awarded the OG La Matador, it says players "stopped the CEO." Some players expressed confusion, it was still possible to fight the CEO as a boss fight. asimo3089 stated on Twitter that "the phrase shouldn't be in there,"[1] and that it was supposed to be "open ended" for the boss fight to still make sense.[2]
  • The cash goal of 2,000,000,000 was achieved in just under 10 hours after the event's conclusion, at 2:12 AM UTC.[3]
    • Had the OG La Matador been obtainable only before the goal was reached, this would make it even shorter than the Javelin's 2 days of obtainability.
  • The OG La Matador is the one of very few vehicles in Jailbreak to have never had a natural spawn point, being exclusively spawned from Garages.
  • The OG La Matador has 4 louvers that almost completely cover the rear window, while the modern counterpart has 3, and you can see through them much more clearly.
    • This change made during the revamp was likely made to be more accurate to the real life car the La Matador is based off of, the Lamborghini Aventador.
  • The OG La Matador cannot equip retired textures such as Peach, ClassicVar1, and ClassicVar3, despite being a recreation of a vehicle from before those textures were retired.
