The Power-1 is a seasonal vehicle, featured as the grand prize of Season 17: Exploring Europe. Modeled by oof_ed[1], it features functioning butterfly doors and supercar speed. [2]

The Power-1 could have been obtained by reaching Level 10 through Contracts. It was found at the Season Hypezone during Season 17.

Overview[]

The Power-1 is based on the McLaren P1- a hybrid supercar of British origin. Originally unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the McLaren P1 was considered groundbreaking for its extensive use of carbon fiber for weight savings and for incorporating a plug-in hybrid powertrain design. The McLaren P1 was one of the three cars included in the "Holy Trinity of Hypercars," sharing the pedestal with the Porsche 918 and Ferrari LaFerrari- all three cars were released at a similar time, each with impressive technological features that pushed the performance envelope of supercar technology.

In-game, the Power-1 features one of the most detailed exterior and interior models of any vehicle found in Jailbreak. The Power-1 has a distinctively low and curvy exterior body that contrasts with its carbon fiber underbody. The extensive carbon fiber design extends into the interior, where customizable Alcantara accents surround the cockpit, which includes a customizable gauge cluster and infotainment screen. Additionally, the Power-1 has accurately animated and positioned butterfly doors that open and close upon entering and exiting the vehicle's drivers seat, a custom start-up sound, and a high-revving V8-based custom engine sound specially made by oof_ed and AMiguent for the Power-1.

The Power-1's customization potential is expanded with the ability to fit custom spoilers and specifically change interior lighting colors- one of the first vehicles in Jailbreak to have the ability to do so.

Performance[]

The Power-1's performance is excellent for a seasonal car, outperforming nearly all seasonal vehicles short of Beignet. Additionally, the Power-1 practically outperforms all previous McLaren road cars added in-game. It roughly matches the top speed performance of the Airtail while having improved off-roading, launch speed and benefiting from a handling buff that is shared with the Snake. This adds up to a competitively performing supercar that is great for quick getaways and short to mid-distance trips.

All in all, the Power-1 is an excellent seasonal vehicle, and a great addition to any player's collection of seasonal items.

The Power-1 has an increased turning speed of 1.54 over the standard 1.4, matching that of the Javelin and beating the Airtail. The Power-1 has a great climbing ability due to it's very good launch, and can even climb steep slopes such as the Crown Jewel wall. However, it suffers from going through rails due to its low ground clearance.

The Power-1 has excellent braking, allowing it to stop even at its top speed in less than one second- matching that of the Snake and Airtail. With a health of 75, the Power-1 is below average in terms of durability. It ties with the Snake, Airtail and Macaron, but loses to the Megalodon.

Trivia[]

  • phindr, a well-known Jailbreak YouTuber and community creator, contributed to the presentation of the vehicle in the original r/JailbreakCreations subreddit post[3].
    • It is also revealed in an interview conducted by Jailbreak YouTuber NoobFreak that the vehicle the Power-1 is based on (McLaren P1) is phindr's favorite and dream car in real life. [4]
  • The Power-1's default license plate reads "STARBOY". This is a reference to the musical artist The Weeknd, who has frequently referenced his own McLaren P1[5] within his music and music videos.[6]
  • The real-life McLaren P1 features a retractable, active spoiler, while the Power-1 has no built in spoiler.
    • The reasoning for this, according to asimo3089 on Twitter, was "so that players can put their own wings onto the car". [7] This is presumably because many of the recent limited-time vehicles have not had customizable spoilers.
  • Coincidentally, the GTR Spoiler, a safe prize available from the Crime Safe, is modeled after the spoiler used on the McLaren P1 GTR.[8] The McLaren P1 GTR is a non-road legal variant of the McLaren P1 intended strictly for racetrack use.
