This content is gamepass exclusive.

This content is locked behind a gamepass, which must be purchased with Robux to access.

Not to be confused with the similarly named Sniper Rifle.

The Rifle is one of the weapons in Jailbreak. It was added in the Public BETA Release on April 21st, 2017.

The Rifle is a gamepass exclusive item and can only be obtained by having the SWAT Gamepass, or the BOSS Gamepass, which both costGoldenRobux425. Once any of the two gamepasses are bought, players can equip the rifle at gun stores and armouries. The Rifle itself does not cost in-game money to purchase.

Overview

The Rifle is a powerful mid-range automatic gun. The gun features damage similar to the AK-47 and the same fire rate as the Uzi.

The Rifle's original model bore resemblance to the Heckler & Koch HK416 Carbine rifle. Similar to the Pistol and Shotgun, it received a mesh change in the update of June 24th, 2017. The current model resembles an M16 assault rifle, evidenced by its fixed stock.

The Rifle is capable of dealing high amounts of damage within a relatively short time-frame, requiring only 21 rounds to kill a player with full health.

Its high accuracy, velocity, and fire-rate makes the Rifle an all-around amazing weapon, with the only real downside being the fact that it is locked behind a gamepass.

The Rifle was revamped in the Apocalypse Part 2 Update, featuring a new model and new sounds.

Trivia

  • Similar to other automatic weapons in Jailbreak, the Rifle's damage has been frequently nerfed.
    • Originally, the Rifle used to deal 6 damage. Now, it deals 5.
  • The Rifle used to have 20 rounds, but it was buffed to 30 rounds.
  • Non-owners of the SWAT/Boss Gamepass could have used the Rifle by having a Gamepass owner placing it in a Bed Drawer, which can be picked up. This was patched in the Sewer Escape Update.
    • With the release of the gun racks for apartments, SWAT or Boss Gamepass players could place a rifle there for non-owners to pick up. This was soon patched shortly after the update.
      • Non-owners could also use the Rifle by having a Gamepass owner drop the Rifle from their inventory as of the NASCAR/Mid season update, which allows for it to be picked up. This was also later patched, with non-owners receiving a notification saying that they need the SWAT or Boss Gamepass to use the weapon.
  • Players could obtain a Rifle for free when playing the Battle Royale or Alien invasion gamemodes. However, the Rifle would disappear from the player’s inventory after a gamemode ended.
  • Before Fall Update 2020, the Rifle could not be obtained at any of the Gun Shops.
  • Similar to the AK-47, the Rifle does not have a visible charging handle on the back of its model. Additionally, the model lacks a trigger, just like every other Jailbreak firearm.
    • Realistically, the Rifle would not be able to chamber a round and cannot be fired, and thus be unusable.
  • If a player has the SWAT Gamepass and goes to the Rifle in a criminal base, they will need to have the BOSS Gamepass to use it, though the player has already had the weapon. The same goes for BOSS Gamepass owners.
    • However, both Rifles are the exact same in stats and appearance.

Miscellaneous trivia

  • This was the first automatic weapon to be added in the game, having existed since the release of Jailbreak.
  • As of 2021, this is the only firearm in the game that requires Robux to obtain, and one of three weapons to cost Robux. The others being the Turret on the SWAT Van and Celestial which is available with the same gamepasses, and the Nuke.
    • The Nuke can be bought for GoldenRobux20,000, or obtained for free by reaching Level 10 in a season.
  • The Rifle was originally exclusive to the SWAT Gamepass, but after the Weapons/Items Update, the gun is now available to owners of the BOSS Gamepass.
  • The Rifle's newer model (as of the Gun Skins Update) seems to be an M16 assault rifle, as it features a full stock and a carry handle. However, the handguard, grip, and magazine are undersized compared to its real-life counterpart.
  • If Robux was converted into Jailbreak's cash, the Rifle would slightly cost over Cash Icon25,000.
