The SUV is a retired vehicle that used to spawn in the parking lot in front of the Prison Police Station.

Overview

The SUV was added in the 1B Visits Update. It was mainly used by Police or Prisoners trying to escape, as players could've used it to jump over the Prison's fences or used a nearby ramp as another escape. This vehicle costed Cash Icon40,000 in-game cash. It retired in the July 2020 update, along with the Megalodon after the Power Plant revamp update.

Similar to the Brulee, it received a replacement very shortly after its retirement, as stated in a tweet reply by asimo3089, "there's a muscle car involved, and a new surprise SUV." This surprise SUV turned out to be the Surus, and it spawned in a location where the SUV once did, also having a spawn location at Prison Police Station. However, this didn't last too long, as a much more fitting replacement, the Interrogator, was added to the game in the May 2021 Update.

Performance

The SUV sports decent top speed, acceleration, and handling. It excels in off-roading, having high ground clearance and being able to climb hills with ease. Before its retirement, it made a good getaway from the Prison by using the ramp, but this required Rocket Fuel. It makes a good police vehicle due to its great off-roading and reasonable stats.

Overall, the SUV is a decent vehicle, especially for teams, similar to the Interrogator.

The SUV has a top speed of 144 MPH. Comparable to the Model 3. However, the SWAT Van out-speeds it. Slightly slower than Camaro but better than Roadster with reverse speed of 50 MPH.

Provides a decent burst of speed, but the Model 3 launch faster. It reach 35 MPH. The acceleration is about the same as its launch speed. It takes more than 10 seconds to reach top speed.

Due to it's slower speed, it's good at handling at any speed. It has some trouble when cornering in the city blocks. The ground clearance is high but not the highest. It can drive over dunes efficiently and is very stable. However, due to its heavy mass, it tends to lose some speed when climbing obstacles, but it rarely flips over.

It takes about 2 seconds to come to full stop. Comparable to the Sentinel. SUV has 125 HP, which is above average. Comparable to Striker but behind Prison Bus.

Trivia

  • Like most Police vehicles, with the exception of those that spawned in the Secret Agent Base, the Patrol and one of the two Surus, the SUV spawned in one color; Blue.
    • However, when spawned at a garage or with the Premium Garage Gamepass, it has the chance to spawn in grey or yellow.
  • When it was first added, no sirens would appear on the SUV, even if a police officer drove one. This was fixed a few days after the update.
    • The headlights on the SUV were also broken like the sirens, as the headlights shined on the rear of the vehicle, not the front like it was supposed to.
      • This was also fixed a few days later.
  • The SUV spawned at the Military Base, but it was removed and replaced with the Jeep in the Prison Revamp update. This was most likely to help players who were new to the game get out of the Military Base if a Helicopter was not available, and the Jeep fitting with the theme of the Military Base better than the SUV.
  • The SUV originally spawned in-front of Prison Police Station's front door in the parking lot, but then it was moved to a parking space in the Prison parking lot.
    • After a miscellaneous update, it was reverted back to its original spawn.
  • The SUV's license plate reads "VRO OOM".
  • The SUV has had its spawn locations moved the most times out of all the vehicles, having 6 different locations over its in-game lifespan.
  • The SUV and Megalodon's retirement first appeared in the Jailbreak game description on Roblox.
  • Players could've used the SUV to escape by jumping on top of the electric fence instead of escaping by crouching under the fence near the gates. However, this is no longer possible, as its spawn point is now removed.
  • Also for a short time (from June 30, 2020 to July 12, 2020), despite the Surus already being in the game, the SUV still had a spawn point and could be bought, meaning this is the only retired car to be on sale at the same time as its replacement.
    • This was because Badimo planned to retire the SUV and Megalodon on the following Saturday when they would release the revamped Power Plant, but the revamp was delayed until the next weekend.

Miscellaneous Trivia

  • The SUV is based on the Chevrolet Tahoe PPV, a common police SUV in real-life. Although some players say it bears resemblance to either Ford Expedition SSV or a 2015 model Ford Territory.
  • The SUV is the third Chevrolet car in Jailbreak, the first being the Camaro, the second being the Pickup, the fourth being the Ambulance, fifth being the Ray, and sixth being the Ray 9.
  • The SUV is the only vehicle to have 2 replacements; the Surus and the Interrogator.
  • In the Spring 2021 Update the Posh, SUV, and Megalodon received pinstripes. However, the stripes were removed in the Return of 5 days 5 vehicles event. During that time, the "CLASSIC" label replaced the pinstripes.
  • The SUV, Airtail, and Classic are the only retired vehicles to not have a name change in Miscellaneous Update 103.
  • The SUV is the first vehicle in Jailbreak with a bull bar on the bumper, the second being the Interrogator. However, the bull bar on both vehicles serve no purpose.
    • In real life, it is used to perform a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) manoeuvre during pursuits, protecting the vehicle itself from damage.
  • Around the time of the SUV's retirement and the Power Plant's revamp was released, Badimo forgot to remove the spawn of the SUV in old servers, but it was still retired, meaning that even though it had a natural spawn location, it couldn't be purchased.
    • This also happened to the Megalodon, JB8, Raptor, and The Agent.
    • Its spawn point along with the Megalodon's were eventually removed later on.
