Safes are a feature in Jailbreak that players can use to unlock random prizes, such as colors, rims, textures, drifts, furniture, and even vehicles like the Fiasco, Laviolette, Hammerhead, Venom and Manta. The Model 3 is also included in the Street safe for beginner players but not exclusive to the Street safe.

Much like Hyperchromes in Robbery Bonus Rolls, safes also have a "Pity" feature to prevent unfair rolls. It guarantees players the highest rarity item in that safe. Pities are separate across each safe type and reset whenever the player rolls the rarest item in the safe.

As part of the Season 23 Update, the "Legends" safe was revamped to include a new vehicle, the Manta, along with community-created vehicle customization rewards.

Overview

Buying Safes

To buy safes, click the GUI icon on the left sidebar that resembles a Police (Tier #3) safe. This will bring players to the "Buy Safes" screen. Players can switch between the two screens by clicking the button on the top sidebar of the GUI.

Previously, players could gift safes to other players. This could be done by selecting a safe, entering the player's Roblox username, and clicking "Gift". This feature was later removed.

Opening Safes

To open safes, click the "Open Safes" button. This will direct players to their unopened safes. If they click on an unopened safe, a spinner will appear, which will randomly give a customization item; if the player has already owned the item selected, they will be given cash.

For a brief time, there was a ten-second cooldown after opening a safe before players could open another safe. This was soon removed due to criticism for the feature being unnecessary.

Functionality

If the player receives a customization item they have already owned, they will receive cash. A common misconception is that the rarity of a customization item will only be found in that tier safe. Instead, any customization can be found in any safe, but the chance of getting a rare customization item will vary depending on the safe. Chances can be found in the safe selection menu upon opening the safe button on the left of the screen.

For twenty-four hours upon joining the game, players will receive a Tier #2 (Street) Safe for owning the VIP Gamepass. For playing Jailbreak for the first time, players will receive 2 Tier #1 (Common) and 1 Tier #2 (Street) Safes.

Former System

The former safe system allowed players to earn colours, textures, spoilers, rims and even more safes. It also allowed them to gift safes to other players. Each player got a Tier 1 (Gray) safe every day while VIP Gamepass players got an extra Tier 2 (Blue) safe each day. The safe cash list is below.

Trivia

• Safes used to be able to give players a Keycard.
• In previous updates, safes used to give players decals for Roblox accessories as textures.
• In the 2017 Winter Update, the Tier #6 safe was added along with brighter skins and unique rims.
  • Additionally, the prices of safes and duplicate cash amount were doubled in the update.
  • The Tier #6 safe was leaked by asimo3089 before the release of Jailbreak.
• Previously, the duplicate cash amount was three-fourths of the opened safes value. This was reduced to half the cost of the safe.
• In the 2018 Winter Update, a Tier #5 safe could also be obtained by opening an Airdrop Briefcase.
  • However, as of January 13th, 2019, this is no longer possible.
• On January 1st, 2022, safe gifting was temporarily disabled due to an unknown reason.
  • In the Season 11 Update, players can only gift safes by Trading.
    • As of August 11, 2023, trading safes have also been disabled due to abuse.
• In the Season 11 Update, a new safe system is added along with 24 new prizes.
• Due to government laws, players in Belgium, the Netherlands and South Korea cannot buy safes.
  • As of August 13th, 2024, these laws now also apply to the UK.
    • However, players that are 18+ will still have access to Safes.
  • As of September 21, 2024, these laws now also apply to Australia.

Miscellaneous Trivia

• If a player tries to buy a safe but cannot afford it, it will redirect them to the Cash GUI.
• In the Nukes Update, the safes' GUI changed in size and color.
  • The page is divided into open and buy Safes.
• As of the Balance Update, there is a cooldown after the player opens a safe before they can open another one.
  • This was removed in a miscellaneous update in November 2020.
• Before the Nukes Update of May 2020, the icon for safes was the Tier #6 safe.
