This page is about the feature. For the sub-game where trading occurs, see Trading Island.
Trading is a feature in Jailbreak which allows players to trade vehicles, vehicle customizations, weapon skins, safes, and furniture items with each other. Introduced in the Trading Update on June 10, 2022, it can only be performed on the Trading Island.
Overview

Attempting to start a trade.

Trade request pending.
To trade, players must first go to the Trading Island, a unique server specifically for trading. To do so, players must enter the red cube on the ship at the Beach Town.[1] Players can also purchase the Trading VIP Gamepass to be able to teleport to the island from the Team selection screen.
Once teleported to the island, approach any player and press E to request a trade, or tap the button on mobile. The other player has 1 minute to accept the trade request (90 seconds if the requester has Trading VIP). If the request is either declined or ignored, the trade will not start.
In a trade, players can select up to eight items from their inventory. Once the trading system has decided that the trade is fair, both parties must accept two times to complete the trade.
To prevent scamming, a warning screen will be shown to players three times: when they reach the Trading Island, when they start a trade, and when they accept a trade.[2] Due to this, Badimo is not responsible to any scam that has occurred.

- If this happens, there will be a message at the bottom of the trade menu that says, "Unbalanced: Your side is too low/high".
- The Pixel skin has a particle effect exclusive to BETA Testers.[10]
- Only the BETA Testers will have the particle shown on the Pixel skin, even when they gain it back after giving it away.
- Players who are not BETA Testers do not have the particle effect along with the skin.
Trading Island
The Trading Island is a location added to Jailbreak in the Trading Update, along with the trading feature.
The Trading Island is the only location where players can trade in-game. It features numerous walking paths, roads, garages, and unique hangout zones. Teams, arrests, and damage are disabled on the island.
Item Cards

A card of a new seasonal vehicle.
Tradeable items appear in forms of item cards. Players can see these by toggling their inventory or while trading with another player.
The card shows which type of item it is, the item's name, whether it was a seasonal item, and if it is, the level required for it to be obtained in that season. If it is an item from the old seasons (OG Seasons 1-4), it will only display the season in which the item was in.
If it is a new seasonal item but has no level indicator, the item was the season's extra prize (e.g the top 2% reward). The only exceptions are the item cards of the Turret (L2) and the Bloxy Lisa (L3) (furniture items), which only show the level indicator but not the season indicator, as they require players to reach those levels in every season to be bought.
On the top-right corner of the card, a button can be clicked for additional info of the item. If clicked, it shows the original owner of the item, how many of that item are traded monthly, how many of those items traded monthly are unique, and when the item was created.
If a player has duplicates of an item, said items will be marked with numbers in the inventory.
If the item's original owner is the current owner, it will appear as gold.
Different kinds of item cards have different colors:
- Vehicle cards: Red
- Furniture cards: Yellow
- Weapon skin cards: Purple
- Vehicle customizations (texture, rim, spoiler, tire, horn, and color) cards: Blue

Trivia
Trading
- Trading was hinted at by asimo3089 in his live Q&A in April 2022, along with car stacking.
- Stacking vehicles and items was later confirmed by asimo3089 on Twitter.[14]
- For most item types, the only way to stack them is to obtain a duplicate from a trade. The only exception to this is non-limited furniture as players can buy duplicates of the furniture.
- Stacking vehicles and items was later confirmed by asimo3089 on Twitter.[14]
- According to asimo3089, one of the reasons why using cash in trading is not allowed is because Jailbreak has "some ultra wealthy players that could wreck havoc" and that "our rich players are too rich".[15]
- Another reason mentioned is that being given a lot of money would discourage players from playing the game long-term.[16]
- The NASCAR, NASCAR Free and the MCL36 are untradable due to contracts Badimo signed with NASCAR and McLaren. This was confirmed by asimo3089.[17]
- However Badimo "convinced" NASCAR to allow the NASCAR 75 and items within the 2023 NASCAR Event to be tradeable.
- Originally, previously-banned players who bought the unban were not allowed to trade.[18] However, they were later allowed to trade so they were able to get back on their feet after being unbanned.[19]
- Due to many complaints about the trade balancing system, asimo3089 has said that they would make it less restricting.[20]
- asimo3089 mentioned that the game's anti-cheat system also logs info of trades to find potential exploiters.[21]
- In an unknown update, the Trading GUI was made smaller which could be because you couldn't see the other player's chat.
- Jailbreak trading is banned in some countries due to government laws on censorship.
Item Values
- As generally accepted by the community, the most valuable items of each type are as follows:
- Vehicle: Torpedo (30M)
- Color: HyperDiamond Lvl5 (40M)/Hypershift (153M)
- Texture: Checkers (21M)
- Rims: Void (17M)
- Spoilers: Thrusters (18.5M)
- Tire Styles: Snowchain/Donut/Roadspike Tire (1M)
- Tire Stickers: Blue50 (2M)
- Horns: Cucaracha (1M)
- Drifts: Spark Drift (1M)
- Furniture: Noob Scream Painting (4M)
- Weapon Skin: Drip (4M)
- asimo3089 has stated that tradeable items have in-game values to prevent bad trades from happening. However, he has not decided on whether to display those values.[22]
- asimo3089 has stated that he is aware of fan-made item values websites.[23]
Pixel Texture
- The reasons why only BETA Testers have the particle effect on the Pixel skin are that Badimo wanted to express gratitude towards their support to the game's early stages,[10] and that it is a way to prove original owners of the skin.[24]
- Previously, asimo3089 could not decide whether the Pixel skin should be tradeable as he was aware of its great demand, but wanted a way to express gratitude to BETA Testers.[25]
Trading Island
- The Trading Island was leaked from as soon as May 27th, 2022, by the official Jailbreak Collector Twitter/X account.[26][27]
- This account was previously used to hint at the Tomb robbery, and later at Hyperchromes.
- An older version of the Trading Island was leaked and posted on YouTube due to exploiters.[28]
